Taproots are dropped by spriggans.

Taproots have all the same effects as Dwarven oil, allowing you to make a potion with all four effects.

• 2 in Ansilvund Excavation (Eastmarch)
• 2 around Clearpine Pond (Haafingar)
• 2 in Fort Snowhawk (Hjaalmarch)
• 2 in Honeyside (Riften)
• 2 in Ienth Farm (Raven Rock)^DB
• 2 in Nightcaller Temple (The Pale)
• 2 in Proudspire Manor (Solitude)

It is categorized as an uncommon ingredient, meaning that all apothecary merchants have a 15% chance of carrying 1-5 samples. In addition, it may be randomly found in uncommon- and rare-type apothecary's satchels.

Creatures

Taproots are dropped by all varieties of spriggan, including spriggan matrons and spriggan earth mothers^DG.

Notes

• Contrary to what is stated in the official Game Guide, spriggans only drop taproot, and never drop spriggan sap.
• Frequently, objects which look exactly like Taproot are found apparently used as light sources. Most often they are seen in camps such as those inhabited by the Forsworn. These cannot be picked up or interacted with in any way, however.
