Queen Aubk-i is worried about Nulfaga. edit

Yep, still mad.

[edit] Quick Walkthrough

  1. Go to Shedungent and see if Nulfaga is still mad
  2. Report to Aubk-i that she is indeed still mad

[edit] Detailed Walkthrough

After talking with Queen Aubk-i in Daggerfall, you will learn she is concerned about Nulfaga the sorceress (Gothryd's grandmother). Since the death of her son Lysandus, she has shut herself away in the confines of the Shedungent dungeon in the Wrothgarian Mountains, and no one has seen or heard from her in quite a while. Your mission is to pay a visit to Nulfaga, talk to her, and return to the Queen in time and report your findings.

The normal way to get through this quest is to get through the dungeon.

Go west from the entrance and follow the passage; go up some stairs.

You will come to an intersection. Go west and then south at the next branch, than once again west. You will pass under a portcullis.

Continue down the corridor and through the door to the south, go down the precipitous stairs.

Go north past the two intersections to the west.

Go further north and trough the door, head west a few steps and go trough the door to the north. You will find yourself in a huge grotto.

Go north across the rope bridge spanned across the abyss.

Once you crossed the bridge go north trough the door, than east until you reach the end of the hallway, turn south.

Head further south and up the ramp, follow the hallway east until it ends, than turn south.

Go further south until you reach the throne room of Castle Shedungent. go up th stairs and you will find Nulfaga on the second level.

To exit the throne room just say 'shut up' to the lich's statue near the south door. The exit will be just a few steps to the south.

If you don't want to spend all that time running around the maze, the easier, and somewhat cheap, way is to activate the banner beside the door with the dragon on it and respond with 'shut up' . Nulfaga is on the second level of the huge chamber beyond the now open door. You actually learn this command after talking with her which makes a following quest, Medora's Unicorn Horn, much easier since it also takes place in Shedungent. The real-adventurer's path to finding Nulfaga involves the usual dungeon crawl, bypassing the locked door.

[edit] Reputation Gain

In case you return in time to Queen Aubk-i, after you have spoken to Nulfaga, you will gain reputation according to the table below.

Faction/Person Reputation Gain
Daggerfall +18
Queen Aubk-i +18

[edit] Notes

  • The magical looked door to the throne room can be opened with any Open spell.
  • This isn't a required quest, but it makes searching for Medora's Unicorn Horn much easier.
  • The magical item reward is told at the beginning of the quest. Save before you accept to find a reward best suiting you.
