Viranus Donton is an Imperial member of the Chorrol Fighters Guild. His mother, Vilena, is the Master of the guild. He had an older brother, Vitellus, who was recently killed in the line of duty. He is not as confident as his brother was, and you will be asked to offer him a boost in morale during The Master's Son quest.

Viranus is one of the few characters in Oblivion who is implied to be homosexual. His journal, which the player recovers as proof of his death during the Trolls of Forsaken Mine quest, frequently refers to Eduard, with specific mention of Eduard's "beauty" and his willingness to forgo lucrative work to spend time with Viranus. However, Viranus' journal never implies any form of romantic or sexual relationship between them.
