[edit] About me
The name's SercenKing, but just call me SerC. The name is just sentimental as Sercen was the first dungeon I cleared out. I'm an italian teenager living in South-West London and can perfectly speak english (sorry, no 'mario' accent). I've been playing Oblivion for around a year and Morrowind for a couple of months and have joined the wiki in September 2008.
Currently, I'm struggling to contribute as much as I would like to. The main reason is that the IB Diploma is far from easy and time-consuming to say the least. However, I still hope to be contributing as much as possible.
[edit] Wiki History
I don't remember exactly how I got to the wiki. My best guess to this point is that I was looking for info on the Scheduled for Execution quest on Google and found a link here. That was around May 2008. For the next two months I browsed the wiki, finding it a great place for any info I needed. At the beginning of July I decided it was time to pay back the wiki for all it had helped me with; with my newly created SercenKing account I logged on for 30 minutes on July 3rd. It was enough display in a very obvious way my newbie-ness! I first switched the order of the Theives Guild quests related to Anvil Castle by the logic that The Ultimate Heist was the last one. So far, so good. But then I threw myself into a series of astonishing edits to The Drunken Dragon Inn. I was trying to add the info about an Imperial Guard soldier being there but didn't quite get the right location. I first managed to edit it in the location table and then in the /description page. The latter was reverted by Rpeh who tried to gently tell me what a noob I was and also welcomed me. After this traumatic experience I quit the wiki for two months (also due to holidays) to then return on 9th of September to find I had forgotten my password... Damn! And so.. poof! I rolled up a new user: Sercen King! (notice the space between the words). Except for two small edits on the now-dead Roleplying/Dark Knight page I didn't do much. Twenty days later I came back and... you've guessed it! I had forgotten my password again. Or actually, I forgot where I put the capitals, spaces and numbers, not the actual word. So it was time for the definitive user SerCenKing, a mix of the previous two. I started my (third) editing carrier by adding an overlooked NPC to the Necromancy page. And it is on the same day that Game Lord welcomed me. I am now torn between considering Rpeh or Game Lord as my welcomer (...who cares anyway XD) and whether my anniversary date is 3rd July or 29th September. I've decided for the latter and although I did only one edit that day, I have gone a good way ahead until now, and I hope to get better and better.
[edit] Contributions to the cause
- I've added and revised over 30 walkthroughs for the OPRP in various articles; mainly of (but not only!) Necromantic lairs, including Dark Fissure, Fort Istirus, Kindred Cave, Hame and Underpall Cave.
- I've finally finished a month-consuming project: revamping all of the Stores and Inns in Cyrodiil. All now have a standard layout, have info on the vendor, unique items and about the building in general.
- Completely revamped the Necromancer, Conjurer and Marauder pages so that they look more like the Bandit page and the Vampire page so it looks more like the Dremora one.
- I've also just finished re-writing all the articles of Necromancer and Mages Guild-affiliated NPCs, which were my first two mini-projects in the massive ONPCRP Aside from writing and checking pages, I also try to help Rpeh keep up with the huge flow of pages needing images.
- Various articles in the Tamriel Rebuilt sub-namespace, for example Keys, Fort Stirk, A Little Help from my Friends and Polle Gold Mine
- More recently, a bunch-load of Patrolling the Recent Changes.
- Various grammar checks and clean up for random articles.
[edit] Current Projects
- I am now a full fledged contributor of the OPRP Project which means that I have started to add as many walkthroughs as I have the willpower to do.
- I've also just become a
not-quite-yet-contributor to the ONPCRP Project, whichsounds likeis a great project!
Current Status can be found here.
- Also working to improve the Tes4Mod:Tamriel Rebuilt sub-namespace: removing red links and such. Progress here
- Playing through the Morrowind and its expansions; and I mean play: finish all the quests, go through every dungeon, get every item etc.
- Do a major rewrite of the Shivering section: de-stubbing and the like
If anyone wants to join and help me out with any of my projects, feel free to leave a message on my talk page.
[edit] Oblivion Characters
I started off playing Oblivion with my Khajiit Thief 'Shadow' (no, I'm not very creative with names). He generally mucked about Cyrodiil, amazed at its size since it was my first RPG experience. He fell in love with Chorrol and decided to join the Thieves Guild just for access to fences and regularly cleaned up Bruma of all those objects its citizens left alone in chests. Finally he leveled up stupidily with Sneak and Security training sessions to get to level 10 to do Nocturnal's quest to then find out it was too difficult for him as his he was still wearing Leather armor and using a Silver sword.
That was when I initially ditched Oblivion for other games to then rediscover it months later. Since I was fed up with Shadow I created my definitive character:
Lonerin, the Mage! He's skilled with all of the magical arts, currently level 29, and has got some pretty cool spells. He's the Arch-mage of the Mages Guild and the greatest collectors of staves and robes in Cyrodiil.
He completed all of the official Mages Guild quests long ago and has recently managed in eradicating Necromancy in Cyrodiil by clearing out every single Necromancer-populated dungeon.
He is now enjoying his life as boss and has completed all of the various magical related quests, for example Seeking Your Roots and Through a Nightmare, Darkly. He has also recently managed to max out all of his stats and become a master in all of the magical arts. He has also completed his immense collection of staves, robes and hoods by collecting every single one of such items crafted in Cyrodiil. His final questing was to collect a full set of Master alchemy apparatus and read every single magical skill book, a feat he has just achieved.
Now, after donating his collection of items to the Chironasium, his books to the Mystic Archives, his rare ingredients to the Lustratorium and having appointed Raminus Polus as Arch-Mage, he has stripped almost bare and started looking around for a place to end his existance. After hearing rumors of its idyllic conditions, he boarded a ship to Stirk, where he planned to spend the rest of his days.
The dramatic events that occured on the island however made him realise that the path laid in front of him was that of adventuring. After some dungeon diving to get the show back up and running, he made a crazy decision: to pass through the Strange Door in Niben Bay to explore wait lays behind it.
