opening the shop[edit]

I've run into a problem where War-Bear won't open the shop. I thought it might be because he was glitched or dead, but even after I spawned him at me and he went into the shop it wouldn't open. I could unlock it with the console (or pick the lock), go in, talk to him and trade just fine, but the door would lock again after I left.— Unsigned comment by 71.171.18.178 (talk) at 19:54 on 15 January 2012

Yeah, this is glitch which affects a number of merchants. In my case, usually waiting one hour and then moving up to the shop and then moving away from the shop works most of the time. It will probably be fixed eventually.RIM 20:14, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
This is confusing, and probably on the wrong Talk.

incorrect notes on rentable bed[edit]

If you sell firewood to Hulda, all low value items in the inn and Hulda's bed become free to take or use, although you will still need to pay for the rentable bed.

This is not correct. I have save games where I sell firewood to Hulda the very first time I enter the Inn, and the (rentable) upstairs rear bed does not require payment. PC 1.5 no mods.

You need only pay for the rented bed once, as it does not revert to being owned once used.

This is not correct. The bed is good for 24 hours, after which it becomes "(owned)". You can sleep in it multiple times.

A reword might be in order although the free rentable bed is a bug. Are you saying the rentable bed is free to use after selling her firewood but not paying the 10 gold? If it becomes owned again then its a bug in all of my games (I wrote that part). The Silencer has spokenTalk 01:23, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
I have saved games before and after I first entered the building, and again the next day. I'll test thoroughly, but it will take awhile. (I threw away all previous saves after restarting with 1.5, since I'd run into so many bugs!)

Bed bugs again[edit]

The Silencer (talk · contribs · email) just removed (saadia's is a different bed, no sleeping doesn't mean no bed ownership) the ACCURATE description of the fix by USKP 1.2.4.

  • No, Saadia didn't have a bed anywhere. Now she does.
  • Mikael was going to the wrong bed. Now he goes to the previously empty bed we thought was Hulda's (has a spare lute and drum), and Saadia goes to the bed in the room with her encounter markers.
  • Hulda has no bed, and no sleep package.

This particularly peeves me because I'm the editor who wrote that note in the first place. So, I know whereof I speak.

The USP is doing far more than it's original concept and assuming far more is wrong with the game than there is. There is no evidence that Mikael was supposed to have this room beyond the existence of the instruments, when raising Hulda's disposition allows this bed for free which suggests ownership of the bed (I have no PC so cannot verify this). What made the USP makers choose to give this bed to Mikael and not just give the bed packages to Hulda. If we are claiming ownership of content, then don't plagiarize, I wrote that note in the article. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 08:40, 22 November 2012 (GMT)

Doorknob[edit]

Why does the right handle on the front door disappear every time I go in? No mods installed, have Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire installed but turned off. KaidaThyme (talk) 23:49, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
