Quest Dialogue Option Not Available[edit]

I'm finding in my current playthrough that sometimes beggars don't offer the dialogue option for this quest. Is this a bug or is there some reason it is sometimes not available? I'm a Bosmer in this playthrough and I don't already have the Gift of Charity as an active effect.--DagmarH 04:11, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

That is a bug and I'm going to add it to a bugs section with a needs verification tag. --2dum2live 02:20, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
He could try the console commands enable and disable if he's on the PC.--Skyrimplayer 17:10, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
You can remove the Needs Verification tag. I have the exact same problem. No Gift of Charity active, but the beggars aren't asking for money.104.15.180.18 12:24, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
The only reason I can see for this to happen is if you have no gold. Apparently, all the beggars in Skyrim are psychic, so if you have no gold, they won't give you the option to give them some. Robin Hood  (talk) 15:29, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
Boy, do I feel like a chump. I forgot I had temporarily stashed all my gold in an End Table at home. Went and grabbed a few coins and suddenly I can give one to Lucia again. Glad that issue is solved. Wonder if a note about that should be added to the article? Anyway, thanks so much for your help.104.15.180.18 18:34, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
Already done. :) Thanks for confirming that that's what it was for you. Oh and no reason to feel like a chump—it's not the most intuitive thing that a beggar's dialogue options would change based on something they have no way of knowing. Robin Hood  (talk) 19:26, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
