Quest Specific Dolmens[edit]

Should we mention the Dolmens that appear only once as part of a quest here somewhere? I know of Gil-Var-Delle and Arenthia off the top of my head, and there's a few in the Planar Vortex (which doesn't have an article yet?) at the end of the Coldharbour quests. I'm sure I'm missing a few. Seems like they're at least worthy of mention. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 12:26, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

I would say that they're Dark Anchors but not dolmens. This page is specifically about the group event locations. It'd be better to assemble a list of quest-specific ones on the other page in my opinion. —Legoless (talk) 16:40, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
Can't really separate the concepts of Dolmens and Dark Anchors. Dolmens are just the locations where Dark Anchors drop - there can be no Dark Anchors without Dolmens. Thing is, this is the page that lists locations. The Dark Anchors page describes the mechanics of them (which doesn't even apply to the quest-specific ones, which generally have only one wave, don't spawn Generals, etc.), but doesn't list any locations. The intro paragraphs here already describe some borderline non-Dolmen dolmens: Proving Grounds Dolmen, Unfinished Dolmen, Cloud Ruler Temple. I'd say those are pretty similar in nature to the Gil-Var-Delle and Arenthia ones. The Planar Vortex ones are a bit different, since you don't even deal with those in at all the same way (Meridia just destroys them for you). But they're still Dolmens. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 01:26, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
Point is, this page is specifically for listing named locations that need a Dark Anchor event to be cleared. None of those quest-related Anchors meet the criteria to be a "Dolmen". The Dark Anchor page would be a good place to note these exceptions though, and maybe even explain how the mechanics change (or if they're just scenery like in the Planar Vortex). There's no real reason the pages are split into two, but this one is clearly more of a specific list than a general article, so I'd say random quest info would be better off on the non-list page.
The examples already on the page are all marked locations and are only really mentioned here to avoid confusion with our lists; Cloud Ruler Temple in particular is important to note since it uses the same icon. I suppose it'd make sense to add a link to the quest-related ones as well in the opening blurb, but actually going into detail about them is far too wordy for anywhere on this page. —Legoless (talk) 03:08, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
I don't see much benefit to listing quest-specific anchors. This page specifically wouldn't be the right place, as it is for map locations that have Discovery and Completion XP as an event. Do the quest-specific anchors count towards the Chainbreaker or Anchor Destroyer achievements? If not, they are only relevant within their quests and have no purpose outside of those, so a passing mention on the Dark Anchors page is all that is really needed. --Enodoc (talk) 13:05, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
