The Uderfrykte Matron

The Uderfrykte Matron if the shader doesn't work

The Uderfrykte Matron is an Easter egg referencing Morrowind's Bloodmoon expansion. The Matron is the mother of the original Udyrfrykte which was featured in the quest The Mead Hall Massacre. In Oblivion the Matron is included in an undocumented quest in which the player finds Agnar's journal and has the option of finding and killing the Uderfrykte Matron. The Uderfrykte Matron is found east of Dive Rock in a small, flat clearing near a tree and Agnar's body.

The Uderfrykte Matron is scripted to be partially invisible with a frost shader (as seen in the image), however this script doesn't always work, so some players may see her as either a normal troll or totally invisible.

Notes

• The Udyrfrykte Matron is a probable reference to Grendel's mother from the epic poem Beowulf.
• The Udyrfrykte Matron is similar to a normal troll in that she has a weakness to fire. This makes fire spells or a weapon enchanted with fire damage a good choice. She also has frost resistance, so don't try and use frost spells.
• There is an Udefrykte in Skyrim.
