Soris Arenim is a male Dunmer commoner living in the Imperial City's Talos Plaza District with his wife, Erissare Arenim. It seems that Soris has a penchant for mage's staves. He does not offer any services.

After you have completed the Bravil Recommendation, people in the Imperial City may tell you the rumor:

Soris Arenim sure seems upset. I think he lost something important.

This only happens if you chose to steal the staff from him during the quest, if you instead pay him people will say

I heard that Soris Arenim made himself quite a bit of money recently. He seems very happy about it.

His house is in the northwest portion of the Talos Plaza District beside Astinia Atius' house and across from Usheeja's house. The main level consists of a stairway on the north wall that leads to the upstairs, and a door beneath the stairs in the northeast corner that leads to the basement. A table in the southeast corner holds four gold pieces. The chest of drawers on the south wall contains clutter, as do the three barrels and three sacks at the foot of the stairs, the barrel and two tied sacks in the southeast corner, and the chest on the east wall. The two barrels next to the basement door and the untied sack next to the chest all hold food. Two more clutter sacks sit at the top of the stairs.

The second level of Soris' house is his private quarters. Two single beds sit against the south wall; the two sacks next to the eastern bed both hold clutter, and the chest holds clothing. A desk on the north wall contains his key and does not respawn, and the two sacks next to it hold more clutter. A food barrel and two clutter sacks sit against the west wall, and the table in the northwest corner holds two sweetrolls and a pear.

In Soris' basement, a clutter barrel sits on the first landing of the stairs, and three clutter sacks sit on the last three steps. There are two clutter crates and a clutter sack in the northwest corner, two clutter barrels and a food barrel in the southwest corner, two more clutter crates and a food sack in the southeast corner, and another three clutter barrels and two clutter sacks in the northeast corner along with two clutter chests. Around the central pillar is a clutter crate and a clutter sack, a food sack, and a non-respawning chest of drawers that contains a mage's staff
