Rimalus Bruiant is a male Imperial Noble living in Chorrol with his wife Rena, and their two dogs, Bailey and Kezune. They're well known around town as dog-lovers, but they have little importance in the game. He is not involved in any quests and does not offer any services.
[edit] Notes
- Rimalus' last name, "Bruiant" is French for "noisy", making his name literally translate to Noisy Rimalus in French.
[edit] Bugs
There is sometimes a glitch, where Rimalus will attack his wife or his dogs. This was previously thought to happen only upon breaking in, but now is found to happen when Rimalus is walking around Chorrol also. This is probably caused by Rena and her dogs Bailey and Kezune all being in the Bruiant Family faction, to which - oddly - Rimalus does not belong. In addition, it also appears to be due to his unusually high Aggression, which appears to be a mistake.
This bug is fixed by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch.
Also, if the owners are killed, the dogs may walk off randomly, often as far as the Aleswell settlement.
- A bug may occur where Rimalus will follow the player everywhere, even if you fast-travel. He is actually only supposed to follow the PC if the player is at his house/basement. Also, having 100% Chameleon on oneself does not prevent Rimalus from detecting the player. [verification needed — Can someone verify, please?]
