Oblivion:Count

A count or countess is the ruler of one of the eight counties of Cyrodiil. The nobiltiy of Cyrodiil have limited authority, since most of the power is in the hands of the High Chancellor and the Elder Council. All of the rulers live in their own castles and have their own staff, generally including bodyguards, stewards and many servants. Some also have a castle mage in their service.

The game begins with seven ruling counts/countesses. Most rulers can sell a house to player, provided their disposition is high enough. Many are also involved in the quest Allies for Bruma, during which they will send aid to Bruma, provided the Oblivion Gate in their county is closed first.
