Certain individuals in Oblivion are so important that they are issued bodyguards by their nearest City Watch. No bodyguard has an individual name. All bodyguards are Imperial men. They follow their charge around at all times, not even eating or sleeping. They will protect their charge with their very lives should they be threatened. All bodyguards respawn, leading to a minor glitch during the Permanent Retirement quest. Here is a list of all the bodyguards in Cyrodiil:
