Meet Nels Llendo

You'll run into the suave Nels Llendo on the road south of Pelagiad.

To Kiss or not to Kiss

If you are a male character, Nels will politely ask you for 50 gold; if a female character, all he requests is a kiss. If you refuse to pay his tithe, or do not have at least 50 gold, Nels will attack you (he is rather powerful for a starting character to defeat). However, he will not attack you if you deny him the kiss. Not kissing him results in a 10 point disposition loss, while kissing him gives a 30 point increase.

Further Uses

If you do pay him the gold (or if you are female), you will find him later on in the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad, offering training in Short Blade, Security, and Sneak.

Notes

• Running away after Nels Llendo attempts to end your life you for not giving Nels Llendo 50 gold causes him to disappear and teleport into the Halfway Tavern, where he will attempt to end your life upon arrival.

100		I met the "famed" highwayman, Nels Llendo. After I paid the pompous ass 50 gold, he took his leave. However, he did mention he was staying at the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad, and I could find him there. Perhaps he can be of some use later. Or I can get my money back.
120		I met the "famed" highwayman, Nels Llendo. While he did not attempt to rob me, he did ask for a kiss, which seemed harmless enough. It seems he is rather smitten with me, for he asked me to visit him at the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad. He might be of some use.
130		I met the "famed" highwayman, Nels Llendo. While he did not attempt to rob me, he did ask for a kiss, which I found to be utterly distasteful. He was polite enough, though, and told me if I ever changed my mind, he could be found at the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad. It's possible he might be of some use, though the thought of kissing the rogue turns my stomach.
140		While Nels Llendo is a bandit and a rogue, he was not an unpleasant sort. I'll have to remember to look him up when I next visit Pelagiad.
