Lore:Places N
[edit] Nalonga
Nalonga is a major island just south of the Sea of Pearls in the Eltheric Ocean. Possibly considered a part of the Yokudan chain of islands.
[edit] Narsis
Narsis is a major trading city in the southern region of Morrowind, on the fertile Deshaan Plain. It was once home to a gladiatorial team known as the Stormlords. Situated on the banks of the Thir River, Narsis is the ancient capital of House Hlaalu and home to the Imperial Proconsul.
[edit] Necrom
Necrom is a city on the easternmost tip of Morrowind's mainland which has major religious significance to the Dunmer. The coastline close to the city consists of steep, treacherous cliffs, and sailors are warned to take care in the area.
It is a city of the dead, whose name reflects its function as a burial ground for Morrowind's finest citizens and warriors. In appearance Necrom resembles a giant necropolis, dominated by sacred walls and white towers. Just to the west of the city is a large cemetery, which is home to all manner of dangerous creatures.
The city was once home to a gladiatorial team called the Dark Heat. Rat Necrom with Bonemeal Gravy is a dish which bears the city's name, but which is outlawed in the Imperial Province. "From Necrom to Daggerfall" is a common saying used to emphasize the size of Tamriel.
[edit] New Sheoth
New Sheoth is the ever-changing capital of the Shivering Isles and the seat of Lord Sheogorath. It is located in the eastern part of the Isles, at the feet of the Jester's Spine Mountains. It is placed on the border between Mania and Dementia, the two halves of the Isles. The city itself is divided into two districts, Bliss on the Manic side and Crucible on the Demented. New Sheoth Palace overlooks the city; contained within is the Palace of Sheogorath, as well as the Houses of Mania and Dementia. The Sacellum Arden-Sul is located at the base of the Great Torch. The ruins of Xirethard are mostly located beneath the city. Like everywhere in the Isles, root tunnels run deep below the city. Of particular interest is The Fountainhead, where the insanity of the realm's inhabitants settles to supply the waters of the Font of Madness.
Every era, during the Greymarch, the city is destroyed by Jyggalag and the forces of Order along with the rest of the Isles. Prior to the building of New Sheoth, Cylarne was the capital of the realm. New Sheoth survived the Greymarch of 3E 433, when the Champion of Cyrodiil assumed the title of Mad God and freed Jyggalag from his curse. The city was still in existence by 4E 201.
[edit] Niben Bay
Niben Bay is a large body of water lying in the Nibenay Basin, largely east of the city of Bravil.
It lies across the Niben River, splitting it into two parts, upper and lower, and so is technically a lake rather than a bay, which means that the Khajiit name for the bay, Lake Makapi, is more accurate. In addition, the Larsius River, the Corbolo River, the Silverfish River, and the Panther River all empty into Niben Bay.
In 3E 433 a floating island appeared in the bay, on which a door to the Shivering Isles was opened by Sheogorath in his search for a champion.
[edit] Nibenay Basin
The Nibenay Basin consists of the river valley of the Niben. It's mostly an open, agricultural area where the Nibenese Imperials hail from. The Imperial City is located on an island at the base of the Niben River.
[edit] Nibenay Valley
The Nibenay Valley is a small region around the southern end of Niben Bay. To its south lies the dark and brooding Blackwood; in the west, the West Weald and Elsweyr; to the east, the Nibenay Basin; and to the north, Great Forest and, almost splitting the region in two, the Heartlands. Running from north to south are the Green Road in the west and the Yellow Road in the east. The city of Bravil lies in the western portion of the region.
Bergamot grows particularly densely around Bravil, as does Mandrake and Nightshade. The eastern bank of the Niben River is thick with Foxglove, Monkshood, and Summer Bolete. Many other plants thrive in the region, including Nirnroot.
[edit] Niben River
The Niben River, sometimes called the Imperial Run, is a large river in Cyrodiil. Its source is Lake Rumare in the Heartlands and empties into the Topal Bay.
[edit] Northmoor
The Duchy of Northmoor is a province on the southwestern coast of High Rock (in the Iliac Bay region). It is bordered by Ykalon to the north, and Ilessan Hills, Glenpoint and Glenumbra Moors to the south. The provincial seat is the city of Northmoor. The primary inhabitants of the region are Bretons. The Garlythi clan is the predominant vampire bloodline in the region.
[edit] Northpoint
Northpoint is a major city of High Rock on its most northern coastline. It was once home to a gladiatorial team known as the Slayers.
