'''Denel''', an [[Oblivion:Imperial|Imperial]] [[Oblivion:Mage|mage]], is a member of the [[Oblivion:Mages Guild|Mages Guild]] and is currently working under [[Oblivion:Skaleel|Skaleel]] on a research project at [[Oblivion:Vahtacen|Vahtacen]]. In particular, he has been trying to decipher the strange, magical code of a column in the ruin.

He is peculiar in that he has absolutely no schedule whatsoever. He will therefore simply stand still close to the column in the final chamber of Vahtacen's first zone.

He wears middle-class attire consisting of a [[Oblivion:Burgundy Linens|burgundy linens]] and [[Oblivion:Burgundy Linen Shirt|shirt]] and a pair of [[Oblivion:Thick Cowhide Shoes|thick cowhide shoes]]. His only other possession is a leveled amount of gold. He doesn't wield any weapons, relying instead on a set of leveled spells from all of the magical schools.

Even though Denel doesn't share Skaleel's frustration on Irlav Jarol, he shares her feelings on their project in Vahtacen: ''"I’ve had my fill of the place, that’s for sure. And I’ve got the scars to prove it."'' And as he was unconscious for at least an hour after his last attempt at cracking the mysterious "pillar", he will declare; ''"I’m trying to help Skaleel the best I can, but I’m not going near the thing again."''

In the other end of the ruin, Skaleel will comment on him and his numerous attempts; ''"Why Denel stays down there, I have no idea. He’s just asking to get killed."'' And she's pessimistic about the whole affair; ''"I don’t know why Denel is even trying. This is doomed to fail."''

Denel will be key to cracking the code of the column thanks to his extensive knowledge of the Ayleid language. When asked to translate the various tablets he will say:
;'''"av mafre nagaia"''': '' 'mafre' seems to translate to frost. So a spell with frost damage should work for it. Anything else?''
;'''"av molag anyammis"''': ''According to this, it translates to "From Fire. Life." Fire it is, then. Anything else?''
;'''"magicka loria"''': ''It means "Magicka Darkens." Considering the other inscription, it could be translated to mean "Magicka wanes," along with "Magicka waxes." Perhaps a spell that damages Magicka is what you're looking for.'' '''or''' ''Here we are: "Magicka Darkens." Hmm, that's an odd one. Perhaps it's not a literal translation, then... is there another inscription like it?''
;'''"magicka sila"''': ''It means "Magicka Shines." Taken in context with the other inscription about Magicka Darkening, perhaps there's an alternate translation. If we assume it means "Magicka Waxes," then a spell increasing magicka might be what we need. Something that fortifies it, perhaps.'' '''or''' ''It translates directly to "Magicka Shines." That doesn't seem right. Perhaps it makes more sense in context; you should look at the others.''
'''Skaleel''', an [[Oblivion:Argonian|Argonian]] [[Oblivion:Mage|mage]], is a member of the [[Oblivion:Mages Guild|Mages Guild]] who is currently running a research project at [[Oblivion:Vahtacen|Vahtacen]]. She will be your contact from [[Oblivion:Irlav Jarol|Irlav Jarol]] and will send you to [[Oblivion:Denel|Denel]] once you arrive.

She lives a very simple life: between 11pm and 6am she sleeps on a bedroll in the first large chamber of Vahtacen and will then spend the rest of the day wandering around it. She and Denel have also set up a table where copies of [[Oblivion:The Wild Elves|The Wild Elves]] and Jarol's book on the [[Oblivion:Ayleids|Ayleids]], [[Oblivion:Magic from the Sky|Magic from the Sky]] can be found.

She wears middle-class attire consisting of a [[Oblivion:Russet Felt Outfit|russet felt outfit]] and a pair of matching [[Oblivion:Russet Felt Shoes|shoes]]. She also carries a leveled amount of gold and a torch. She doesn't wield any weapons, relying instead on a set of leveled spells from all of the magical schools.

When you meet her for the first time, Skaleel is far from happy with the whole situation in Vertachen; ''”This place has been nothing but trouble, as far as I’m concerned. Since we disposed of the creatures that had taken up residence here, it’s been nothing but a fight to figure out how the place works.”'' And she feels ignored by Irlav Jarol, the very person who sent her down into the ruin to explore, especially when she sees you for the first time; ''"Irlav sent you, did he? Figures. He can't be bothered to come check on his own project, so he sends someone who knows nothing about it. And this is supposed to help?"'' She will end every conversation with a depressing remark; ''”What a waste of my talents...”'' After you have solved the puzzle, it's a different matter; ''”That’s fantastic! Not only can I tell Irlav, we’re back on track, but I can happily say we did it without his help!”''

Further into the ruin, her associate Denel are getting more than a bit tired of her bickering; ''”Skaleel might have a book that would be useful, but she’s been sulking over the way Irlav’s been treating her"'' and ''”I’ve given up trying to deal with her for now.”''
Orintur, an [[Oblivion:Altmer|Altmer]] [[Oblivion:Sorcerer|Sorcerer]], is a Magician of the [[Oblivion:Mages Guild|Mages Guild]] who sells spells at the [[Oblivion:Cheydinhal|Cheydinhal]] Guild Hall. He is married to fellow guild member and alchemist [[Oblivion:Eilonwy|Eilonwy]].

In his dialogue he will tell you that he spends half his time in the Mages Guild and the other half conducting his own personal studies in his house, [[Oblivion:Willow Bank|Willow Bank]].

In actual fact, he is never seen home, preferring to spend his time at the Guild Hall. From 6am when he wakes up until 5pm he will be found wandering around the Guild building. He will occasionally break off to study the rare tome ''[[Oblivion:The Last King of the Ayleids|The Last King of the Ayleids]]'' for three hours in one of the available chairs on the second floor. He then leaves for a three-hour sunset walk and can be found admiring the panorama while strolling on the small island in the middle of Cheydinhal's river. At 8pm he returns to the guild, where he eats a two-hour dinner with his fellow guild members in the east-wing dining area. At 10pm he retires to sleep in his bed on the second floor.

Together with his wife, he attends the weekly parties held on a Loredas at [[Oblivion:Riverview|Riverview]], where he will be found eating between 8pm and 10pm and then conversing with the other guests until midnight. The day after the party, he will treat himself with two extra hours of sleep, and will stay in bed until 8am.
He wears upper-class attire consisting of a [[Oblivion:Red Velvet Blouse|red velvet blouse]], [[Oblivion:Red Velvet Garment|red velvet garment]] and a pair of [[Oblivion:Gold Trimmed Shoes|gold trimmed shoes]]. He also carries his book, his [[Oblivion:Willow Bank Key|key]] and a sizable amount of gold.
He doesn't wield any weapons, relying instead on a set of medium-high [[Oblivion:Alteration|Alteration]] spells. These are the same spells that you can buy cheaply from him, since his [[Oblivion:Mercantile|Mercantile]] is a mere 7. He will offer his services only when reading.
'''Maeva the Buxom''' is a [[Oblivion:Nord|Nord]] [[Oblivion:Warrior|Warrior]] living at [[Oblivion:Whitmond Farm|Whitmond Farm]] just north of [[Oblivion:Anvil|Anvil]]. Her husband, [[Oblivion:Bjalfi the Contemptible|Bjalfi the Contemptible]], recently ran off with a family heirloom, a leveled mace called [[Oblivion:Rockshatter|Rockshatter]], and she wants you to track him down and get it back.

Since her husband abandoned her, Maeva tries her best to run the farm by herself, which means lots of work out in the open, even though she still manage to find some time to relax; She gets out of bed at 6am, takes her breakfast in the house for two hours and then strolls around for one hour. At 9am, she exits the house, pull out her [[Oblivion:Rake|rake]] and work the land tirelessly until she reenters the house at 6pm for a three hour dinner. The last three hours before bedtime at midnight is spent in a chair in front of the fireplace, where she reads the book [[Oblivion:Beggar Prince|Beggar Prince]].

She wears a set of ordinary lower-class clothing, a [[Oblivion:Brown Shirt|brown shirt]], [[Oblivion:Tan Linens|tan linens]] and [[Oblivion:Thick Cowhide Shoes|cowhide shoes]]. She carries around a [[Oblivion:Cheese Wedge|cheese wedge]], her book, the [[Oblivion:Whitmond Farm Key|key]] to her farm, her rake and a small amount of gold. If you have completed the related quest, she will also be armed with Rockshatter.

Not being particulay impressed with her husband's merits and deeply regretting, that she chose to overhear her fathers warnings about him, the first thing she will say to you is;'' “If you see my good-for-nothing husband, Bjalfi, tell him I want back what he stole from me!”''

The rest of her dialogue is quest-related, but upon completion (with the inevitable result), she will reflect a bit on her now late husband :''“He was a good man when I married him, but greed took a hold of his heart. While I’m not happy he’s dead, I’m glad he’s at peace.”''

And even though she's not grieving, her final words reveal that she is definately ready to move on in life;'' “Now that Bjalfi’s gone, looks like I’m available again. Back to the old dating game.”''

Spoilers may follow, stop reading now if you don't want to read them...

Once the guards kill Glarthir (provided you show them the note), you take his key and loot his house. The gold you get there is great, but I have a different question.

Since you now have the key to a house where the owner is now dead, can you safely keep stuff there to lighten your load?

Thanks! --[[User:Harry349|Harry349]] 20:43, 7 January 2007 (EST)

: Short answer: nope. Long answer: You need to purchase a [[Oblivion:Houses|house]] yourself to safely store items. Most chests and other containers throughout Oblivion will periodically reset themselves, causing anything that was left there to disappear. Using the construction set to look through the chests in Glarthir's house confirms that almost all of them are set to regularly respawn. If you really want to gamble, there is one cupboard on the second floor (the one that was initially locked and contained three weapons) that will not respawn. I'd recommend testing it first with something disposable... wait at least a week, come back and see if it's still there. --[[User:Nephele|Nephele]] 22:55, 7 January 2007 (EST)

:: I'm pretty new to Oblivion, but what about just throwing stuff down all over the floor? It's not my place, I hadn't planned to keep it tidy. ;) --[[User:Harry349|Harry349]] 11:59, 8 January 2007 (EST)

:::I'm not totally sure on that one, but I know that things dropped on the floor in the street will eventually disappear, so I wouldn't be too confident about the house. --[[User:Ratwar|Ratwar]] 12:31, 8 January 2007 (EST)

: I did this at one point, with Glarthir's house, because I didn't know any better, and if you wait long enough (probably about a week or so, I'd guess), when you go to take your items back out of the chests, they get marked as stolen. This appears to be an easy (maybe not completely reliable) way to achieve your independent thievery goals. --[[User:AnitsirK|AnitsirK]] 20:41, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

I have another question. I've played 3 different characters in Oblivion now, each to different degrees of completion. Each time Glarthir meets his demise (either because I killed him myself, or the guards took care of him) his body never disappears. The first time his body was near the east gate for months (real time). This time his body had been outside the church for about a week in real time. So now I have completed the Mage's guild and have the Staff of Worms. My plan, since Glarthir's body seems to persist, is to use him as a mule, hauling my loot around for me. This thought occurred to me because I was milking the Mehrune's Razor quest dungeon for as much loot as I could and had to make so many trips that the NPCs would respawn. If everything goes as I plan then I'll just drop my Glarthir inside the front door and ferry the loot to his dead body, then when I've finally completed the quest I'll reanimate him and have him haul it to the marketplace and sell the stuff off. '''Does anyone have any experience in regard to my idea above?''' [[User:McGrude|McGrude]] 15:07, 22 July 2007 (EDT)

: Rats. Glarthir neither fast travels with me, nor does he go through the Skingrad city gates. Oh well. At least I can use him to ferry loot between my house in Skingrad and the vendors. [[User:McGrude|McGrude]] 16:08, 22 July 2007 (EDT)
== synonyms for paranoid ==
Instead of Obsessive I was thinking paranoid but this being redundant. I began thinking of synonyms of Paranoid.
I concluded with psychotic best matching his behavior because, an Obsessive person wouldn't generally be homicidal.--[[User:Obliv4PS3|Most Honored Listener]] 18:07, 27 July 2007 (EDT)
:I'm not going to launch into a full-fledged essay about this, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with saying Glarthir is obsessive. I'm not a doctor, but I do know that "obsessive" is a perfectly accurate description of his behavior. In any case, this is too nitpicky of a point to argue over. This is all valuable time that could be spent improving things that actually need to be improved. --[[User:Eshe|Eshe]] 18:21, 27 July 2007 (EDT)
== Glarthir..stupid crazy man,. ==

This happened to me in the mission whodun it for the dark brother hood. I had avoided him up till this point and he was right near the door to summerset mannor. I heard him say hey you I need to talk to you so I booked it into to the mannor after I got the key. About three seconds later he appears in the mannor to talk to me and is now stuck in there after I finish the quest. I tried to give him the key so he could get out but its a quest item. Is this a xbox only bug?

:I remember him following me INTO an Oblivion gate once when I was closing the Skingrad gate as part of Allies for Bruma. You can try using a Command spell and get him out. --[[User:Sundaroct131088|Sundaroct131088]] 06:09, 30 September 2007 (EDT)
::There's a bug involved with this house that prevents NPC's from leaving once they enter. I think this is on the [[Oblivion:Glitches|GLitches]] page somewhere. :::I wouldn't use the word definitely. I've got a game where his body remained for the rest of the game. After Glarthir being killed, I noticed his body was still there (inside the city) after several days. I moved it around several times after that (AoE spells) and his body still remained. A possible clue is that I didn't kill, or attack, him myself. The guards killed him. I have another game where I myself killed him, I could check if the body in that game disappeared. --[[User:Timenn|Timenn]] 12:46, 25 October 2007 (EDT)
*100 Acrobatics (really helps with this)
*Permanent Bound Helmet, Gauntlets, Boots, Cuirass and Greaves, plus 2 rings (Weightlessness helps)
*7 Grand Soul Gems filled with Grand level souls. To easily obtain this, train to level 13, get Frostcrag spire, then soultrap and kill the Vault Guardians. Below level 13, their souls will be petty/lesser.
*Enchant the bound armour and 2 rings with Fortify Acrobatics, the result will be "Fortify Acrobatics 10 pts". This should bring you up to 170 Acrobatics.
*'''DO NOT BUY ROSETHORN HALL!'''
*'''DO NOT INITIATE THE PARANOIA QUEST!'''

Ok, this is quite a neat trick, note, I did this on the XBOX 360. I walked into Skingrad, hadn't spoken to Glarthir, so basically, whenever he saw me, he'd say his line about needing to speak to me, and he'd follow me....everywhere....

I was messing about near Rosethorn Hall and I hopped up on the balcony of the house beside Rosethorn Hall on the right side, "Hammer and Tongs". From that balcony (you may have to slide along the edge until you can hop up), I hopped to the balcony of Rosethorn Hall.

Miraculously, Glarthir walked right into Rosethorn Hall, and came out onto the balcony. Turns out he unlocked the front door and balcony door, without a key. I was amazed because I did not own Rosethorn Hall and I did not have a key, and both doors were locked.

Because of Glarthir, I was able to freely walk about inside Rosethorn Hall and use it as a loot stash without having to purchase it.

If you meet all the requirements as listed above, feel free to try this. It's quite neat to see that Glarthir has in-game permissions that allow him to open "Needs a key" doors. [[User:ImmortalKaine|ImmortalKaine]] 23:54, 16 January 2008 (EST)
::Almost forgot to mention. Technically, the game thinks you are trespassing. You can't use the bed in the bedroom, but you can initiate the "The Rosethorn Cache" sidequest and obtain your reward this way. Glarthir may have trouble getting off the balcony, just walk inside the house and he should follow you and exit the house safely. [[User:ImmortalKaine|ImmortalKaine]] 23:59, 16 January 2008 (EST)
:::Third note: I have not tested the 4-day-item-reset thing, to make sure that items dropped inside the not-yet-owned but unlocked-by-Glarthir Rosethorn Hall would or would not disappear, so until I check everything out, please do not attempt to store items, as there is a chance that the game could reset the house.....if that's even possible... ::He's scripted to meet the player when he or she first comes to Skingrad, then assuming the quest is accepted, changes one aspect of his schedule, which is to wait behind the chapel from 10pm to 2am every night. If he ends up going on a killing spree there are several other schedules to take into account, but they aren't worth mentioning on this page as they're covered on the quest page instead. –[[User:Rpeh|Rpeh]]•[[User_Talk:Rpeh|T]]•[[Special:Contributions/Rpeh|C]]•[[Special:Emailuser/Rpeh|E]]• 12:22, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
'''Pranal''' is a [[Oblivion:Redguard|Redguard]] [[Oblivion:Warrior|Warrior]] and the [[Oblivion:Master Training|master]] [[Oblivion:Trainers|trainer]] in [[Oblivion:Heavy Armor|Heavy Armor]]. He can be found at the [[Oblivion:Roxey Inn|Roxey Inn]], north of the [[Oblivion:Imperial City|Imperial City]].

He wanders around the Inn all day long, except when sleeping upstairs between 2am and 9am and when he eats breakfast downstairs between 10am and midday.

He wears a pair of [[Oblivion:Doeskin Shoes|Doeskin Shoes]], [[Oblivion:Tan Linens|Tan Linens]] and a [[Oblivion:Quilted Doublet|Quilted Doublet]]. His only possesion is a small amount of gold.

{{NewLeft}}
==Heavy Armor Training==
The only advanced trainer who can give you the master training reference necessary to start this quest is [[Oblivion:Varnado|Varnado]]. [[Oblivion:Valus Odiil|Valus Odiil]], although not a trainer, will also provide the reference.

To receive training, he first asks that you buy [[Oblivion:Malene|Malene]] (the Roxey Inn's publican) a gift. He is her "secret admirer" of sorts, and wants you to find a silver pitcher and 4 silver glasses. He gives you 50 gold to cover the expenses, but there is no requirement that you must buy the items. You can steal the silver pitcher from almost any home, although the silver glasses can be harder to find.

Some places to find the items are:
<!--No more locations, please! There's more than enough here -->

* The [[Oblivion:Chorrol|Chorrol]] [[Oblivion:Mages Guild|Mages Guild]] has more than needed to meet these quest requirements, and you can grab them without stealing once you've joined the Mages Guild: one of each lies on the table next to the entrance door, 2 of each on a shelf of the second floor library and an additional silver glass on a side table nearby.
* In the "Chapel Hall" area of each city's chapel (except for Kvatch).
* One option is to steal the glasses and pitcher from the bedroom of [[Oblivion:Countess Arriana Valga|Countess Arriana Valga]] in [[Oblivion:Castle Chorrol|Castle Chorrol]] which contains 5 silver glasses and 2 silver pitchers. This task is made somewhat easier if the [[Oblivion:Canvas the Castle|Canvas the Castle]] quest is active, as it gives you a key to the private quarters, allowing you to sneak around un-challenged.
* [[Oblivion:Norbert Lelles|Norbert Lelles]] in Lelles' Quality Mercandise ([[Oblivion:Anvil|Anvil]] Docks) happens to have exactly four silver glasses and one silver pitcher for sale.
* Novaroma in [[Oblivion:Bruma|Bruma]] has three silver glasses for sale.
* The Three Brothers in the [[Oblivion:Imperial City|Imperial City]] has a total three silver glasses for sale.
* Thoronir in [[Oblivion:Imperial City|Imperial City]] has a total three silver glasses for sale.
* Two silver glasses can be found in the Gweden Farm Basement, the location of the [[Oblivion:The_Siren's_Deception|The Siren's Deception]] quest.
* These items can be found for free in the ruined Castle [[Oblivion:Kvatch|Kvatch]].
* [[Oblivion:Rosethorn Hall|Rosethorn Hall]]'s dining room has six silver glasses on a shelf against the south wall and a silver pitcher on the table.
* In Chorrol, three Silver Glasses and a Silver Pitcher can be found in Francois Motierre's House, while a fourth Silver Glass can be purchased from Northern Goods and Trade.
* In Skingrad, in the West Weald Inn, there are 2 silver glasses on the counter, 2 silver glasses on a table and 5 silver glasses in the cupboard, that's total of 9 silver glasses, also there is a silver pitcher on each table.
*The Tiber Septim Hotel also has a large collection of silver glasses and pitchers that could be "borrowed" for this quest.

After you bring back the items, Pranal asks you to give them to Malene.

==Notes==
* The [[Tes4Mod:Unofficial Oblivion Patch|Unofficial Oblivion Patch]] renames the "silver glass" to "silver cup", but doesn't change any of the quest dialogue or stages. This doesn't affect the quest except to make it slightly confusing which items to gather.
* Before the [[Oblivion:Nothing You Can Possess|Nothing You Can Possess]] quest is initiated, the Roxey Inn is pretty crowded. The room upstairs, first door on the left, initially belongs to Pranal, but one of the other guests will steal it, forcing him to wander around the Inn until 6am, when the bed becomes available.

== synonyms for paranoid ==

== Glarthir..stupid crazy man,. ==

I'm sure it has something to do with the NPC's in the Dark Brotherhood mission not being able to leave. What I usually do here is get the town guard to chase me in there and then there aren't any guards in Skingrad!
'''Things Required'''

It says Thamriel is in the '''Eight Cities Couriers Customers''' Faction. Is this related to the unfinished quest that starts with the pop-up window: "New Topic: Do you need couriers?" --[[User:GuildKnight|GuildKnight]] | [[User_talk:GuildKnight|Talk]] ([[Special:Contributions/GuildKnight|contribs]]) 19:12, 13 March 2007 (EDT)
:I don't think so, although it's hard to be sure with an unfinished quest ;) That quest appears to be "Imperial Express" (abbreviated ImpEx in many places in the construction set). The comments for the quest provide the following list of "recipients"
1 = Anvil, Counts Arms, Wilbur
2 = Anvil, Flowing Bowl, Maelorn
11 = Bravil, Lonely Suitor Lodge, Bogrum gor-Galash
12 = Bravil, Silverhome on the Water, Gilgondorin
21 = Bruma, Olav's Tap and Tack, Olav
22 = Bruma, Jerall View, Hafid Hollowleg
31 = Cheydinhal, Newlands Lodge, Dervera Romalen
32 = Cheydinhal, Cheydinhal Bridge Inn, Mariana Ancharia
41 = Chorrol, The Grey Mare, Emfrid
42 = Chorrol, The Oak and Crossier, Talasma
51 = Leyawiin, Five Claws Lodge, Witseidutsei
52 = Leyawiin, The Three Sisters Inn, Shuravi
61 = Skingrad, Two Sisters Lodge, Mog gra-Magakh
62 = Skingrad, West Weald Inn, Erina Jeranus
:So Thamriel is not on the list; many people who are on the list aren't in the Eight Cities Courier Customers faction. I don't see much of anything associated with that faction at the moment. --[[User:Nephele|Nephele]] 02:43, 21 March 2007 (EDT)
I don't think anyone else has noticed, but after doing the thieves guild quest Misdirection, she comments on it from shouting "RUMORS" at her, and after she says the line, you hear the voice actor quietly say "wait, let me try that one again" and she repeats the line, with the voice synching no longer working. Just thought this might be worthy of her wiki page, and also something explaining her weird introduction dialogue, about white creatures in the garden.--Odul.

== Her behaviour at the 3rd of each month ==

Well, I tried to follow her around on this particular day, and she doesnt spend more than 30 in-game minutes at the Courier. She then appears to get out on some kind of non-existant mission (as already mentioned in her schedule) before she goes back to her routine at 4pm. I tested it on Tirdas, but I can't be sure how she will behave on other days, when the unfinished mission "ends". I tried to write it down, but further checking is probably nessecary. NOTE: What if Maenlorn is dead - will she just do her normal routine instead? And what does Maenlorn have to do with her, anyway? [[User:Krusty|Krusty]] 05:28, 25 February 2009 (EST)
:I would suppose that if Maenlorn is dead that part of her schedule is disabled. The reason why you don't see a link between the two is because the courier's quest was left unfinished; for example would you know Claude Maric without the Nothing You Can Possess quest? --[[User:SerCenKing|SerCenKing]] 10:08, 25 February 2009 (EST)
I see. But I definately think it was a good idea to change the 3rd schedule to notes - she's pretty unpredictable on that exact day! [[User:80.167.222.147|80.167.222.147]] 10:18, 25 February 2009 (EST)

At 10am on the 20th of each month, she heads to the [[Oblivion:Two Sisters Lodge|Two Sisters Lodge]] in [[Oblivion:Skingrad|Skingrad]], where she will remain until 10am on the next day. When not on this trip, Thamriel sleeps in her house from 10pm until 6am and then spends four hours wandering around her ground floor. At 10am she heads to [[Oblivion:The Foaming Flask|The Foaming Flask]] for breakfast and spends two hours there before heading home again. At 2pm she walks to the [[Oblivion:Market District|Market District]] and walks around the southern corner for three hours. On Morndas, Middas and Fredas she then heads over to [[Oblivion:Green Emperor Way|Green Emperor Way]] and wanders there until 9pm before returning home; on other days she goes straight home from the Market District. Additionally, Sundas sees her spend 8am to noon praying in the [[Oblivion:Temple of the One|Temple of the One]]. Thamriel was intended to play a role in the [[Oblivion:Unfinished Quests#Imperial City|unfinished]] "Imperial Couriers" quest; at midday on the 3rd of each month, as long as [[Oblivion:Maenlorn|Maenlorn]] is still alive, she will head to [[Oblivion:The Black Horse Courier|The Black Horse Courier]] office in the Market District and spend a brief amount of time there, before taking a stroll between the Green Emperor Way and The Talos Plaza District before going back to the Market District again at 4pm. The other exception to her schedule is during the [[Oblivion:Light the Dragonfires|Light the Dragonfires]] quest, when all residents of the Imperial City are under martial law and confined to their houses.

Thamriel appears to be a little unhinged. When first encountered, she will announce ''"Thamriel of Tamriel. What are all those strange creatures in the garden? Where are all the white birds?"'', and her friend Elragil will tell you that ''"I look after Thamriel. {{sic|He's|She's}} a little strange. 'Touched by the Gods', they say."'' Other residents of the Imperial City speculate on her strangeness, and will say ''"Thamriel says she hears voices. All the men and women who lived and died here for thousands of years... maybe they left ghosts behind."''

She wears a middle-class outfit of burgundy linen [[Oblivion:Burgundy Linens|pants]] and [[Oblivion:Burgundy Linen Shirt|shirt]] with [[Oblivion:Pigskin Shoes|pigskin shoes]]. She also carries a few gold coins and her [[Oblivion:Thamriel's House Key|house key]]. Her house is split into three levels, with a basement and private quarters in addition to the ground floor. All three levels contain several crates and barrels of random clutter. The basement also holds a few bottles of [[Oblivion:Cheap Wine|cheap wine]]; the highlight on the ground floor is the silver cutlery, and the upstairs is similarly bare, with a few books and some more silver the only items of interest.
She's always working, but she's always got a smile on her face."'' is one such rumor, and ''"Marie Palielle is quite a hard worker. She's in the chapel day and night, tending to the sick and injured."'' is another. Two shorter rumors convey real affection: ''"No one works harder than Marie."'' and ''"The world needs more folks like Marie."''

On first meeting the player Marie will say ''"Hello. We haven't met, have we? I'm Sister Marie Palielle, the chapel healer, and trainer in the Restoration Arts."'' and when asked about Skingrad, ''"The town is very nice, but I advise you get out and see the countryside... the vineyards and farms, pastures and sheepfolds. Lovely mountain country."''

Her only possessions are the clothes she wears, a [[Oblivion:Blue & Green Outfit|blue and green outfit]] with a pair of [[Oblivion:Quilted Shoes|quilted shoes]], and a few gold coins.

==Bugs==
* Marie has an AI package that should cause her to take a walk to the gate up to Skingrad Castle from 2pm to 4pm, but her sleep package overrides it meaning she spends her entire life in the chapel.

==Were you the one who proposed that the page on the Avatar of Akatosh should be deleted?==

I wrote that page, and I agree wholeheartedly. It should be deleted. A friend of mine who is new to the wiki wrote it originally, and I tried to help her out, but she kept changing stuff. Some of it is mine (such as the reference to "Heaven" that you criticized), but still, I suppose you're right. There doesn't really need to be an article on the Avatar in the first place. So, yeah, let's just let it get deleted. [[User:62 Misfit|62 Misfit]] 17:03, 2 February 2009 (EST)
== Problem with the Book Summary template ==

The changes you made to the template to recognize the Tamriel Rebuilt subspaces have had an unfortunate side-effect. Two new categories have shown up now for the two PGE's: [[:Category:Lore-Pocket Guide to the Empire, 1st Edition-Books|Lore-Pocket Guide to the Empire, 1st Edition-Books]] and [[:Category:Lore-Pocket Guide to the Empire, 3rd Edition-Books|Lore-Pocket Guide to the Empire, 3rd Edition-Books]]. Since these books are using subspaces to distinguish the sections, the template is treating them the same way it treats TR books. I'm not sure what to do about this - maybe move all the PGE subpages to use some other format - say a hyphen instead of a slash, maybe? Either that or add some sort of option to the Book Summary template to make it not use the ModName template when you don't want it to. Other books affected by this are those which use the Daedric font and have a /Daedric subpage using the graphic version for people who don't have the font installed. Not sure if there's others, that's all I can find at the moment. --[[User:TheRealLurlock|TheRealLurlock]] [[User_talk:TheRealLurlock|Talk]] 19:04, 10 February 2009 (EST)
== What was inaccurate in my updated Marana Rian schedule? ==

I spent 4 hours following her around - and I could off course narrow it down to exact minutes, but isn't the point of the new schedules to be able to find her no matter what time a day it is? {{Unsigned|Krusty|12 February 2009}}
: Yes, but unfortunately you have to look in the CS to do a schedule and then verify it in-game rather than starting with the game. For instance, several of the times are out by an hour because you've gone for arrival times. It's more important to know when she starts to move to another place as that determines the AI package she's using, which can in turn affect the services she offers. One example is that she starts heading to the Arboretum at 10pm rather than 11. The schedule also failed to mention the Light the Dragonfires exception.
: I dithered quite a bit before undoing your edit because it was ''nearly'' right. It would be great to have you on board the project, perhaps as a schedule checker rather than a writer, if you don't have CS access. –[[User:Rpeh|Rpeh]]•[[User_Talk:Rpeh|T]]•[[Special:Contributions/Rpeh|C]]•[[Special:Emailuser/Rpeh|E]]• 00:43, 12 February 2009 (EST)
Ahh, I see - funny thing is, I had all the transportation written down in my first draft of the schedule, but decided it was a bit too long for it's own good. Anyway, as I don't have acces to CS (PS3 user), I guess I cannot participate as a writer - but I would like to be a part of the project in any way I can. Let me know, if something needs to be checked - and let me add this weird little anecdote I experienced the other day, and that I couldnt find anywhere on here: While I was doing the "The Noble Daughter"-quest, after I killed the two Orc's, I met master trainer Tobern figting a bear in front of the cave, where Lady Rogbut was hiding. Very weird!

And again, as I find this page extremely fascinating, let me know if theres anything I can do to help! {{Unsigned|Krusty|12 February 2009}}

: I have just the page for you! [[:Category:Oblivion-ONPCRP-Schedule-Unchecked|This]] is a list of pages where schedules have been written but that still need to be checked. Somebody willing to follow NPCs around and make sure they follow the advertised schedule would be really useful. Once you've done one, add "<code><nowiki>|scheduleChecked=[[User:Krusty|Krusty]]</nowiki></code>" to the <code><nowiki>{{cleanup-obnpcrp}}</nowiki></code> tag and it'll list you as the checker for that page and move it into [[:Category:Oblivion-ONPCRP-Schedule-Checked|this]] category. –[[User:Rpeh|Rpeh]]•[[User_Talk:Rpeh|T]]•[[Special:Contributions/Rpeh|C]]•[[Special:Emailuser/Rpeh|E]]• 12:01, 12 February 2009 (EST)

You got it! Can't promise I can do all of them, but I'll give it a shot! What should I do in case I find a mistake or something like that?
