Should it talk about the Thalmor hunting them, I think for worshipping talos, in the article?--Br3admax 04:42, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
:The Thalmor are hunting them because the leaders of the Blades thought the Thalmor would be a threat to the world and to the next Dragonborn (should one appear), so the Blades went up against them directly, and in a very large way. Religious issues have nothing to do with it, at least from everything Delphine has said thus far. --Thiafy 20:17, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
This section is inaccurate, as the Blades began as the Akaviri Dragonguard. This is why they use Akaviri weapons and fortresses. I believe this section should be rewritten by someone knowledgeable on Blades lore. CMH 19:06, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
:From Reman Cyrodil right?--Br3admax 03:47, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

::From 'The Book of the Dragonborn' (found in the basement of Delphine's Inn)
::"We know that the Blades, usually thought of as the Emperor's bodyguards originated in Akaviri crusaders who invaded Tamriel for obscure reasons in the late First Era. They appear to have been searching for a Dragonborn - the events at Pale Pass bear this out - and the Akaviri were the first to proclaim Reman Cyrodiil as Dragonborn."
::"...Indeed, it is well known that the Akaviri sought out and killed many dragons during their invasion, and there is some evidence that this continued after they became Reman Cyrodiil's Dragonguard (again, the connection to dragons) - the direct predecessor to the Blades of today." Literat 13:33, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

:::From the book: 'The Rise and Fall of the Blades' (found in the basement of Delphine's Inn):
:::"Dragons have long been legend in Akavir, and many believe that their brief appearance in Tamriel's history are those that escaped Akaviri, for it was there they were hunted and killed off by the Dragonguard. The Dragonguard would follow those that fled to Tamriel in the late 1st Era."
:::"Invading from the north, the Dragonguard met not only dragons, but the men of Skyrim, who didn't meet invasions with pitchers of mead. The Dragonguard cut a path through Skyrim, and it was not until they were stopped by Reman Cyrodiil during the battle of Pale Pass that the invasion came to an end. It was Reman who united the human lands of Cyrodiil and defeated the Akaviri invaders."
:::"...the remaining Dragonguard, upon hearing the voice of Reman Cyrodiil knelt and swore their lives to him, their conqueror and savior."

::: So Penqepi and Br3admax, I think you are right. The Akaviri Dragonguard (are said to have) hunted down dragons in Akavir. The dragons flew to Tamriel, and the Akaviri followed, and invaded Skyrim. The Akaviri were also searching for the Dragonborn. Reman Cyrodiil defeated them, and the surviving Dragonguard declared he was the person they had been looking for and became his bodyguard. This, in my opinion, seems to be the beginning of the Blades, more or less although it is not clear when they acquired that name.Literat 13:58, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
Is it possible to use PC console command codes to permanently remove followers from the Blades faction that you had brought to Delphine, thus returning them to their normal locations and equipment? == The Blades weren't the 1st dragonslayers? ==

Article currently says they are the 1st dragonslayers but I doubt this, although so far I am finding it hard to locate something that conclusively nails it.

One difficulty is establishing exactly when the Blades were formed - I'm assuming the 2nd era - around the time of Tiber Septim (edit: no I'm wrong it was roughly 900-1100 years before Tiber Septim)

My feeling is that Alduin was banished by the Elder Scroll before this. At the time he was banished, many dragons were slain (the female warrior Gormlaith Golden-Hilt claimed to have killed 4 that very day). So a question is: when was Alduin banished? Literat 21:46, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

::Paarthurnax seems to claim that Gormlaith and her companions were the first humans to learn the Voice. Meanwhile, Arngeir says Jurgen Windcaller contemplated the "disaster" at Red Mountain and realised that the humans should have used the Voice for the glory of the gods. So if 1) the disaster at Red Mountain is before Reman Cyrodiil and 2) Gormlaith was before Red Mountain, then 3) Gormlaith is before Reman Cyrodiil and the Blades, and therefore the Blades weren't the first dragonslayers. Sorry it's so convoluted - I'll try and find something better. Literat 21:46, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

:::Well I'm completely ignorant about what the "disaster at Red Mountain" was (edit: it's probably The War of the First Council, i.e. when the Dwarves disappeared 1E 700 or perhaps an event 300 years earlier, either way it seems to be well before the Blades), but I did find a book called 'The Dragon War', which, apparently,
:::refers to the battle between dragons and men, which led the 3 heroes and Alduin to fight at the Throat of the World:

:::"When the populace rebelled, the dragon priests retaliated. When the dragon priests could not collect the tribute or control the masses, the dragons' response was swift and brutal. So it was the Dragon War began. At first, men died by the thousands. The ancient texts reveal that a few dragons took the side of men. Why they did this is not known. The priests of the Nine Divines claim it was Akatosh himself that intervened. From these dragons men learned magics to use against dragons. The tide began to turn and dragons began to die too. The war was long and bloody. The dragon priests were overthrown and dragons were slaughtered in large numbers. The surviving dragons scattered, choosing to live in remote places away from men."

:::And at the beginning of this book it talks about the Merethic Era, (which is before the 1st era):
:::"In the Merethic Era, when Ysgramor first set foot on Tamriel, his people brought with them a faith that worshipped animal gods...Foremost among them were the dragons."

:::However, that doesn't necessarily mean the Dragon War took place in the Merethic era. Non-the-less, given that the Blades predecessors, the Akaviri Dragonguard, didn't appear in Tamriel until the 28th century of the 1st era, I feel it is safe to assume that men were killing dragons way, way before the Blades were formed. ::::When Esbern examines Alduin's Wall: "Look, here is Alduin! This panel goes back to the beginning of Time, when Alduin and the Dragon Cult ruled over Skyrim. ... Here, the humans rebel against their dragon overlords - the legendary Dragon War. ... Alduin's defeat is the centrepiece of the Wall." which suggests the rebellion was a very long time ago but it's not conclusive, (especially since Esbern says the other end of Alduin's Wall depicts the end of time).

Yes this page is wrong on a few accounts, gramaticly being one of the biggest. :Esbern says that the ultimatum demanded the death of every Blade agent operating inside Thalmor territory/organisations:

:Dragonborn: "What happened on the 30th of Frostfall?"

:Esbern: "It was a cold day. The end of Frostfall is nearly winter in the Jeralll Mountains. We heard the news at Cloud Ruler by courier, riding hard from the Imperial City. 30th of Frostfall, 171. Thirty years ago. The Great War started that day. The Thalmor ambassador delivered his ultimatum to the Emperor Titus Mede: the heads of every Blades agent within the Aldmeri Dominion. ::However, we cannot rule out that the ultimatum was delivered with a hundred heads of Blade members - (after all, it would be the Thalmor style, in my opinion), and there is a source of information that we are yet not taking into consideration:
::http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Fourth_Era_Major#4E_175 says:
The long list of demands included staggering tributes, disbandment of the Blades, outlawing the worship of Talos, and ceding large sections of Hammerfell to the Dominion. Despite the warnings of his generals of the Empire's military weakness, Emperor Titus Mede II rejected the ultimatum. == The Blades wiped the dragons out ==

There are reasons for thinking the Blades wiped the dragons out in Tamriel (and surely the article on the Blades should mention this):

After reading the Elder Scroll at the Time-Wound, if you speak with Paarthurnax:

Dragonborn: "Dragonreach was built to hold a dragon?"
Paarthurnax: "Yes. This was ages ago, you understand. There were more of us then. Before the brunikke - the akaviri - came and killed all my zeymoh."

(presumably 'zeymoh' = brothers)

Arngeir seems to agree with this more or less, for, if you go to speak with him instead:
Arngeir: "Do you know Dragonsreach? The Jarl of Whiterun's palace? It's name is no accident. The palace was originally built to hold a captive dragon."
Dragonborn: "But I thought there weren't any dragons until Alduin came back."
Arngeir: "Oh, this was back in the days of Olaf_One-Eye, thousands of years ago. In those days, dragons could still be found among the remote mountain peaks. Before the blades wiped them all out." Literat 13:30, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Also the book 'The Rise and Fall of the Blades' backs this up. However, it says the dragon cull began with the Akaviri Dragonguard (possibly before they came to Tamriel), and before they found the Dragonborn Reman Cyrodiil, swore to protect him and thereby formed (the organization that became) the Blades.

Do the Blades serve the Emperor?
The article currently says they do. However, I feel it is more accurate to say they serve the Emperor/Empress, but only if he/she is the Dragonborn. After Martin Septim turned into a big statue in the Oblivion game, there weren't any Dragonborn left, and I think the Blades at that point didn't have much to do with the Emperor. Instead the role of bodyguard was assumed by the Penitus Oculatus. This is why Delphine says something like "for 200 years the Blades had been searching for a purpose" (maybe). Literat 20 December 2011 (UTC)

:However, it may be that Penitus Oculatus are the bodyguard simply because the Blades were officially dissolved at the end of the Great War, and that the Blades never gave up their duties as servants of the Emperor? Literat 15:32, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

::The book 'Anals of the Dragonguard' is a diary which describes how, shortly after the time of Reman Cyrodiil, the Akaviri Dragonguard at Sky Haven Temple completely ignored direct orders from Emperor Kastav, probably on humanitarian grounds i.e. Kastav was a moron. Literat

Redo
This page has become to much of a lore page, I think it should be like the faction page for the blades in oblivion, with most of this page(anything before 4E 01) moved to the lore page, while this page discusses the benefits and the faction in skyrim only, it's not lore:blades, it's skyrim:blades. Should they page be redone.--Br3admax 06:58, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

:I see what you are saying: at the moment about half the page on Skyrim:Blades is dedicated to lore before/during the Oblivion crisis. The Oblivion:Blades page has a bit of history but it's mainly about what the Blades are like as you encounter them in the game (and there is a link to the lore page "for more general information")

:Delphine and Esbern i.e. the Blades (that's all that's left) seem to be very loyal to *some* of the Blades lore: the Avakiri Dragonguard relentlessly hunting down dragons, the Blades completing the cull/genocide (if I may use so strong a term)
:but they ignore the lore about being the bodyguard for the emperor "the Blades are the Eyes and Ears of the Emperor" (presumably this is because the Emperor is no longer Dragonborn).

:and, in my opinion, they don't really pay much reverence to the Dragonborn either ("kill Parthanax or we won't help you"). In contrast, the lore says the Akaviri Dragonguard reverred the Dragonborn, (as Esbern says at the entrance to Sky Haven temple in the game). But I guess the Parthanax stance is more of a game mechanic - social/moral dilemma for the player sort of thing - and really the Blades exist for the Dragonborn.

:So I suppose the lore should perhaps mainly be about explaining the mentality of the Blades as they are encountered in Skyrim. They use to be great dragonslayers, they are here to protect the Dragonborn, and they have a big enmity with the Thalmor. And the rest (main bit) of the page should be like the Oblivion:Blades page? Then it is practical - for the gameplayer (the majority). "This happens in the game and then you can do this and do that" sort of thing. Literat 17:04, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Exactly, if you look at the pages it'n not even the same lore, no daggerfall at all. It's all based on the end of oblivion, the blades were not really looking for attacks on the emperor only.--Br3admax 15:06, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

:Yeah good point - there's Blades lore on a golem called Numidium that seems to be related to Daggerfall, but it doesn't make the article at the moment, so why should Oblivion stuff about e.g. serving the Elder Council - which also seems a bit dated?

:Also, if you look at the Skyrim:Dark Brotherhood page they have virtually no lore whatsoever. It's all about playing the game, what happens, what you can do etc. Which is great. Very practical and helpful.
:However I wonder perhaps that isn't a bit too much like a wiki stub i.e. not enough information because with the Dark Brotherhood, even without a Listener, there is a strong influence from the Daedra: the Night Mother slaughtered her own children. Isn't that lore really quite relevant to the character of the organization? They are brutal killers, after all.

:Also, I talked about the importance of accuracy before but reading http://www.uesp.net/wiki/UESPWiki:Getting_Started it says perfection isn't required: "If you have something to contribute, you should add it. Don't worry too much about making mistakes. Mistakes on the wiki are pretty easy to fix, and we would rather have editors who contribute plenty of information and make a few mistakes than have editors who never add their information because they are too worried about not being able to do it perfectly."

:So with that in mind, I feel we should make changes:
:* Firstly, I'm going to cut out the claim of Blades as 1st dragonslayers because that's probably false, due to the Dragon War taking place "thousands of years" ago.
:* The page currently says: "...first fighting dragons at the side of Reman Cyrodiil because he was Dragonborn." but that's probably wrong since The Rise and Fall of the Blades has the Akaviri Dragonguard killing dragons in Akavir before they met Reman.
:* "Their main base of operations was Cloud Ruler Temple in Cyrodiil." doesn't really matter that much, it isn't in Skyrim and I think it was sacked by the Thalmor? Literat 17:04, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
:* Battle of Sancre Tor involved Tiber Septim routing some invaders, I'm guessing it's not "the most notable battle for the Blades" any more. It may well an important part of Blade history but I feel it doesn't meet the criteria we're talking about of "is it relevant to Skyrim the game"
:* However, I like what the article says about the Blades playing a role in resolving the Oblivion Crisis, because it was a major event, more recent, I played Oblivion and liked it, many other people did too, I guess you could argue the same about Daggerfall and Morrowind though. Literat 17:05, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
:* I don't know what to make of the Remanada with it's flowery, somewhat ambiguous language. The Blades were lead by a pig? Some of them were vampires? Some guy made love to a hillock? A big question I now have is: what's a hillock and how would one make love to it? I'm just struggling with it. Cuhlecain seems to be the Emperor before Tiber Septim? I feel all this should go for now, unless someone wants to make a case for it's inclusion. Certainly, it should be somewhere in the Blades Lore but not, in my opinion, in the Skyrim:Blades page. Literat 17:48, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
:* The first paragraph: I want to get any talk of specific Blades members out of there because it started off as an introductory paragraph but then it had the bit about adding new members bolted on to the end. Which is important information but it needs to be moved past the lore (i.m.o.).

::Okay I've rewritten loads. I am really sorry if I've ripped up anyone's hard work. What's needed now, I suppose, is a big addition of what happens with the Blades in the game.
:Most of my critiques about the existing article, not your changes. I don't know if "rivals" is the best way to describe their relationship with the Greybeards. They are heavily critical of the Greybeards, certainly, but the two don't really compete with each other.

::::Perhaps more conclusive is how, when the player then goes to speak to Paarthurnax to learn Dragonrend, Paarthurnax says he has been waiting for Alduin's return for "thousands of years". Literat 15:07, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

I knew, that day, that it was truly the beginning of the end."
:(btw I took the liberty of creating a new section to deal with your question since it seemed to be quite a good one) Literat 21:05, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

::However, we cannot rule out that the ultimatum was delivered with a hundred heads of Blade members - (after all, it would be the Thalmor style, in my opinion), and there is a source of information that we are yet not taking into consideration:
::http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Fourth_Era_Major#4E_175 says:
::"Titus negotiates with the Thalmor and signs the White-Gold Concordat, a treaty that gives the Thalmor free rein to stamp out the worship of Talos in Tamriel, disbands the Blades, and cedes a large part of southern Hammerfell to the Aldmeri Dominion. Critics note that the terms of the Concordat are almost identical to those of the original ultimatum presented by the Thalmor prior to the war."

::Did the writer just make this up about the original ultimatum? i would think it more likely that there's some more information on the ultimatum out there somewhere - maybe a book in the Skyrim game?
::On the other hand, why didn't Esbern say to the Dragonborn "the ultimatum was delivered with 100 Blades heads"? Literat 20 December 2011 (UTC)

:::Read http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Great_War It says "On the 30th of Frostfall, 4E 171, the Aldmeri Dominion sent an ambassador to the Imperial City with a gift in a covered cart and an ultimatum for the new Emperor. The Thalmor ambassador upended the cart, spilling over a hundred heads on the floor: every Blades agent in Summerset and Valenwood. And so began the Great War which would consume the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion for the next five years."74.215.200.49 07:49, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

::::That's really good - a quote from an actual virtual book in the Skyrim game, thank you. (Summerset Isle + Valenwood = Aldmeri Dominion.) However it does seem to conflict with Esbern's account (he says that they only demanded the heads of the Blades agents?), to the point that I must now consider whether I have made an error and quoted Esbern incorrectly. I'll just find the save game and check exactly what he says. Literat 14:29, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
:::::It's a bit strange that he says the ultimatum is the cart of heads, itself, but it's difficult to argue against the virtual book: The Great War. I conclude: there were heads. Literat 14:57, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
The Blades wiped the dragons out
There are reasons for thinking the Blades wiped the dragons out in Tamriel (and surely the article on the Blades should mention this):

::Well I don't want to speculate or anything like that but considering that the fans complained immensely about the vampirism and how weak it was this time around and the combination of the glowing RED eyes of the dragonborn and the title "dawnguard" i say vampires or vampirism are going to play a part in this DLC. Question, was there any indication that this may have already be part of the game and locked and hidded within the files? as some crafty game companies don't make DLC but simply charge people into unlocking "new" content which was already in the game all along but locked. :::I'm fairly sure someone would've discovered it. On the CSList, which lists all of the game data, there is no record whatsoever of Dawnguard, the Snow Prince (besides the related book), and crossbows (except for one that Dwemer Spheres wield and the player can't use). :I have two theories:
:First Theory
:Two of the preceding games had DLC focused on a Deadric Lord, Herecine in the Bloodmoon and Sheogorath int he Shivering Ilse. Azura, The Queen of Dusk and Dawn, could be involved in this DLC, hence the name 'Dawnguard'. This is a bit of a long shot considering you can totally piss her off by corrupting her Star during her Deadric quest.
:Second Theory
:A screen shot of a Falmer statue has been released. Because the Mer were created first, this could have something to do with the Dawn Era and the creation of Tamriel. This seems more plausible than my first theory, but it's still a little far fetched. I have my doubts that Bethesda will ever give us any real solid information on what exactly happened in the Dawn to Mythic eras. 16:55, May 23, 2012
More than meets the eye
I haven't played through all of Dawnguard yet but, as I was slaughtering everything in the Reach for werewolf perks, I stumbled onto something. Again, I'm not sure if this is part of the DLC's main quest or not, but I stumbled upon some very high level falmer in Liar's Retreat. I'm level 69 and ran into a bunch of things called Falmer Warlords, which had a two very similar (and awesome) sets of heavy armour called Falmer Hardened Armour and Falmer Heavy Armour (heavy seems to be a bit better, stat-wise). I've never seen anything like them before. I also encountered some sort of unique chaurus which looked like a nightmarish mosquito and dropped a probiscus (which turned out to be an alchemy ingredient). This sounds far-fetched, but Im sure it wont be long before someone else finds em too. Maybe they'll become more important as the story goes on, maybe they were just thrown in as a gift from Bethesda to high level players. Either way, Dawnguard greatly exceeds my expectations. 01:58, 27 June 2012
:Don't forget to sign your entries.
:I haven't seen the high-level falmer yet, but I have noticed a few other little gifties that Bethesda threw in with the DLC, including what seemed to be a female falmer and the altmer in the Ragged Flagon who will change your face. Vampire armor and the ability to smith your own arrows are a couple of other new benefits.
Scroll Scouting [Quest]
Just a friendly heads up to whoever has access to the edits of the Dawnguard main page:

During the quest "Seeking Disclosure" you are asked to retrieve two elder scrolls: the "Blood" and "Dragon." If the player had sold an elder scroll (Dragon) to Urag gro-Shub after it was retrieved in the main quest, the quest log will update with a new quest "Scroll Scouting." The one and only objective is to "Buy back the Elder Scroll (Dragon) from Urag gro-Shub." Adding this quest should end any anxiety about whether or not players will be able to complete "Seeking Disclosure."

The other reason I added this to the talk page was because upon entering the Hall of the Elements, where my objective marker was pointing, I found the "leaders" of the college (Tolfdir, Faralda, Urag, Phines, etc.) gathered around the "beam of light", similar to the gathering when the Eye of Magnus was present.
Ever since I downloaded Dawnguard and I try to talk to a Guard, roughly 10% of the time, there are no dialogue subtitles nor is there any audio for dialogue. == Vampires / Werewolves Hybrids..? ==

i've seen the options in Dawnguard and the choice between Vampyrism or Lycanthropy and i was wondering why they do not let a hybrid option in the game...it exists in the RPG'S in Whitewolf, in the Underworld movies and i find it ( like many others ) awesome!!!why the ripp off this choice from the players???it could lift the game in new levels...just my humble opinion...
i've seen this question in some sites in the net too, does anyone knows if there's been any talking from Bethesda for that??? 13:21, 29 June 2012
:The simple answer is, because it doesn't exist in the lore. That said, it is possible to have both simple vampirism (not Vampire Lord) at the same time as lycanthropy if you take advantage of some obscure glitches, or you can simply add both abilities to yourself via the console and have the full version of each. == Additions to vanilla dungeons? ==

Recently I had to go through bloodlet throne for a quest and I was attacked by gargoyles. Now I had never actually entered the throne before but as far as I know the throne was in the original game but, which means that there weren't any gargoyles there before the DLC. Are there any more places where the new enemy types have been introduced since the Expansion, If anyone can confirm this is new to the dungeon(or any others) maybe it'd be worth mentioning on the page?
The first is the Summon Arvak spell, which is taught by a soul in the Soul Cairn for locating his hose Arvak's skull.
A second is Summon Wrathman, which is a spell tome in the Soul Cairn, found among the ruins of that plane.
I have the feeling there are others, and I think I read somewhere that summon spells could be coaxed from the Ideal Masters somehow, though I haven't delved into that puzzle yet.
There are too many items in the game to list. Theres a Shellbug helmet, Ring of Erudite, Ring of the Beast, the three rewards from lost to the ages, 3 different variations of vampire armor, vampire boots and gloves, dawnguard heavy and light armor, a new piece of jewellery (necklace made from a bird I think), Falmer armor, vampire variation of clothing. I suggest that the category be moved to a new page? --SamGhadiali 06:36, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
:Yeah, we're still trying to organize all the Dawnguard information, and eventually all items will be on the appropriate pages. The Shellbug Helmet is listed here, the Aetherium items each have their own pages for now (which will probably be made into redirects to larger pages), the vampire and Dawnguard equipment is at Specialty Gear, the Bone Hawk Amulet is already where it should be, and vampire robes are in their respective location as well.
Trail
Werewolves are playable creatures in Skyrim. They have a muscular build and a monstrous face, in contrast to the more wolflike faces of the werewolves in Bloodmoon. They are taller and broader than man and mer, are normally bipedal and become quadrupedal when sprinting. Their only notable weakness is to silver weapons. In human form, they can change at will through the use of a Greater Power, though they need to constantly feed to maintain their form.

The only way to become a werewolf is to drink werewolf blood, which is available through The Companions questline.

In Skyrim, several named NPCs (including some of the Companions) are werewolves. The Silver Hand faction is known to hunt them and werewolves are often found in their encampments locked in cells; you can recognize a Silver Hand base by the presence of werewolf heads on pikes. Hostile werewolves can also be encountered in the wild, where you can occasionally hear their unusually loud wolf howl. They do not appear at any specific time.

Appearance and Characteristics
The Werewolves of Skyrim differ from their relatives in previous Elder Scrolls games in that they can change at will and seem to have control over their own actions. They do not have as much fur as their Bloodmoon counterparts and are more vaguely humanoid in appearance. They are still prone to accidentally killing someone, however, as they live with a constant bloodlust which drives them to kill and devour their enemies. Werewolves in Skyrim are widely feared and hated as in other provinces, and will be attacked on sight if spotted in beast form. They possess deadly armor-piercing claws and incredible strength, capable of easily knocking most creatures they encounter to the ground.

The werewolves belonging to The Circle were created by the Glenmoril witches that served the Daedric Lord Hircine, which may offer an explanation as to why their appearances and abilities differ from those in the other provinces. Skyrim's werewolves can also draw power from Hircine's totems to give them different roars, each of which grants a unique Shout-like ability.

Becoming a Werewolf adds the Beast Blood constant effect, which grants a 100% resistance to all diseases, but also prevents you from gaining resting bonuses.

Beast Form
After becoming a werewolf, you possess the Greater Power Beast Form, which lets you transform into a werewolf at will. Like other greater powers, this effect can only be used once per day (although the Ring of Hircine provides an alternate unlimited means of transformation). Once transformed, you are in werewolf form for 180 seconds. You can keep Beast Form active longer by feeding on humanoid corpses. Doing so restores 50 points of health and adds an additional 30 seconds of time in Beast Form.

Advantages
* Max health and stamina increases by 100
* Very fast sprint (faster than horses)
* Slight vertical/horizontal leap increase
* Sprinting power attacks cause all enemies smaller than dragons (including mammoths) to ragdoll
* Frenzied attack (holding down attack similar to a flourish)
* No carry weight encumbrance (though you also cannot pick up anything)
* Crimes committed as a werewolf are not attributed to your character (no bounty)
* Wolves do not attack you
* Werewolf-specific Shouts:
** Howl of Terror: the default shout; causes others to flee in fear for 60 seconds
** Totem of Brotherhood shout summons two red wolf spirits to aid you in combat for a limited time
** Totem of The Hunt is equivalent to a Detect Life spell
** Totem of Fear grants a higher-level fear shout

Disadvantages
* No longer able to obtain any sleeping bonuses (this disadvantage is a result of the Beast Blood effect and thus applies to any player with lycanthropy, even if the player chooses not to transform)
* All armor, weapons, equipment, etc. are unequipped and cannot be used while in Beast Form
* Cannot pick up any items or open any containers (including loot from kills)
* Cannot use Spells, Shouts, or Powers (other than the werewolf-specific shouts)
* Cannot initiate dialogue with anyone, although you can talk to someone if they confront you
* Health recovers very slowly, though it can also be regained by feeding on humanoid corpses
* Transformation takes a few seconds, during which you can be injured or killed
* Almost all NPCs will become hostile (exceptions include other werewolves, Maiq The Liar, members of the Dark Brotherhood, followers, housecarls, and members of the Thieves GuildIs this true?, but not your spouse, unless your spouse is one of these)
* Being seen transforming by anyone other than the above exceptions adds 1000 gold to your bounty
* Cannot access the character menu
* Forced third-person view
newLeft

Cure
It is possible to cure lycanthropy; however there is no way to regain it after being cured. Doing so also removes your access to the Underforge. Purifying yourself will also cut you off from completing the Totems of Hircine quest if you have not completed them already.

During the quest Blood's Honor, the player will be tasked to claim one Glenmoril Witch Head. While you have the option to kill all five and collect their heads, it is not necessary to do so all at once.

After curing Kodlak's spirit using the Flame of the Harbinger during the Glory of the Dead quest, you may also cure yourself of lycanthropy. If you possess at least one additional Glenmoril Witch head, you can activate the Flame again; doing so will expend another witch head and sunder your own wolf spirit from your soul, which you will have to defeat like you did your guildmate's before. You must do this before leaving Ysgramor's tomb; if you leave the tomb without curing yourself, you will have to complete the Purity quests before the Flame will work for you again.

After purifying Kodlak, certain other werewolf guild-mates may express a desire to purify themselves as well; doing so will require one more witch's head for each person. Travel with them back to Ysgramor's Tomb and the Flame of the Harbinger, and battle with their sundered beast spirits as well. Once you have cured your two guild-mates, you will once again have the opportunity to cure yourself.

Ring of Hircine
There are two different rings of Hircine that affect werewolves, both of which are gained during the quest Ill Met By Moonlight. Neither ring has any effect if you do not have Beast Blood.

Starting the quest gives you the Cursed Ring of Hircine. This ring can cause you to randomly change into a werewolf, with the same properties as if you had transformed yourself. The other is the cleansed Ring of Hircine, which is gained by an optional way to complete the quest and in fact is disobeying Hircine's request. Read the quest carefully if you wish to obtain this.

The cleansed ring gives you the ability Ring of Hircine which is the same as the Beast Form ability but unlimited in use.

Werewolves already in Beast Form can be found in Silver Hand bases. They are usually kept in locked cages, and if set free will attack you, unless you are also in Beast Form.

The following are types of generic Werewolves you can encounter in the wild as hostile creatures:

*Werewolf Beastmaster
*Werewolf Brute
*Werewolf Savage
Notes
* While a werewolf, the player's armor rating will change, and can decrease dramatically; players relying solely on armor for protection may find themselves much more vulnerable in werewolf form.
* Armor rating in Werewolf form is affected by their skill level in Light Armor and all five ranks of the Light Armor perk Agile Defender.
** As of patch 1.3.10 (Earlier reports in the talk page), this is no longer true and Werewolf form has 0 base armor. This may or may not be intended; it has not been mentioned in the patch notes.
** However, (also as of 1.3.10) you do count as Unarmored for the purposes of the Mage Armor perk.
* Upon transforming into a Werewolf for the first time, you automatically cure all the diseases you may have acquired. It will even cure you at ANY stage of vampirism. This means you cannot be a vampire and a werewolf at the same time. You also become immune to all diseases in your werewolf and human form, meaning you cannot contract Sanguinare Vampiris until you are cured of lycanthropy.
* Though racial abilities don't carry over after a transformation, existing spell effects do.
* You cannot consciously choose to deactivate Beast Form once active. The quickest way to do so is simply to wait until it has worn off.
* Using the Howl of Terror counts toward your "Times Shouted" counter in the General Stats page.
* Being in werewolf form grants you four executions. Pressing a single attack button may have you leaping on your enemy and savagely slashing their chests, or biting their throats. Pressing both attack buttons simultaneously may have you throwing your enemy a great distance, or lifting them off their feet and decapitating them.
* After using the cleansed Ring of Hircine, both the ring and power must be re-equipped, due to the transformation removing the ring.
* Transforming into a Werewolf in view of the guards of a Hold is a handy way to quickly achieve the Master Criminal achievement.

Houses in Skyrim are buildings in which the player may sleep and safely store items in non-respawning containers. Several major cities have a house, of varying size, quality and cost, available for the player to purchase. There is no limit to how many homes the player may own, only a limit on how many houses are available. If you get married, you have the option of having your spouse move in with you.
It also rejuvenates your Health and Magicka. You will not gain any rested bonus if you have the Beast Blood effect from becoming a werewolf or have The Lover Stone activated.
Located in Whiterun, right next Warmaiden's and near the main gate, is Breezehome. The house is two-stories, but very small and does not feature mannequins. However, Breezehome is the cheapest of all purchasable houses in the game and makes for an excellent starter home. The home's proximity to a blacksmith is very convenient for players who need Smithing amenities nearby. It features more storage space than Honeyside and Proudspire Manor. The house can be upgraded with an Alchemy Lab, but it is the only house that cannot contain an Arcane Enchanter.

Honeyside
Honeyside is a two-story house located in the north-west corner of Riften. The house is small, but much larger than Breezehome. It is also unique in that it features access from both within the city, and from a dock outside the city walls. This makes Honeyside a useful home for Vampires as the house can be entered without attracting any attention or even venturing into the city. Another unique feature of Honeyside is that it can be upgraded to have a large garden, with many harvestable plants. Coupled with the home's close proximity to Elgrim's Elixirs, this makes Honeyside a useful house for alchemists. However, the house has the least amount of storage of any of the properties. The house can be upgraded to feature an Alchemy Lab, Arcane Enchanter and a Tanning Rack.
Vlindrel Hall is located high above Markarth, in the north-east corner of the city. The house is spacious and, like the rest of the city, features Dwemer architecture. The house can be upgraded to contain harvestable plants, display cases and mannequins, and also an Alchemy Lab and Arcane Enchanter.
Situated in the north-west corner of Windhelm is Hjerim. Purchasing the house before completing Blood on the Ice will begin that quest as soon as the house is entered for the first time. In its most basic state, Hjerim features little more than a wardrobe, bed, and a chest. However the upgrades available for Hjerim make it arguably the most desirable house in the game, featuring the most amount of storage space, a large armory with several display cases, plaques and mannequins, and the most bookshelf space. Hjerim also features a secret chamber, which can be turned into an Alchemy and Enchanting room.

Proudspire Manor
Next to the Bard's College in Solitude stands Proudspire Manor. Featuring three stories, it is by far the most expensive house in the game. It's closest fast travel point is not Solitude itself but Blue Palace. Despite its mammoth cost and grand design, however, the house is in many ways inferior to the other houses, featuring little storage space and no display cases. However, it is situated in Solitude it is close to merchants and other important buildings in Skyrim and also comes with a semi-unique container - a safe(the other safe being in the Arch-mage quarters).
Bugs
*Items placed manually throughout houses may have their location re-set upon the next time you enter, generally being found where they were dropped off your inventory. If you want them safe to move, there are several ways to make the game remember their exact placement. One workaround would be to drop items off your inventory you want to decorate your house with, then step outside your house, get bounty, and submit to paying the fine. Next time you visit your house, every item you dropped prior to being fined or taken to prison, will be safe to move, their location will save. (confirmed for PC, PS3)
*Workaround for the 360: Place the item desired down in the house, pick it up, and drop it. Leave the house, come back, and move it once more, this time in a different spot(doesn't need to be even a few steps away). Leave one final time, then come back and put the item where you wish, the next time(and all other times) you come back, the item will be where you put them. Unknown if able to do this with multiple items at once,or if there is a refined way of doing this, but all items tried, work. Few notable items tried are a gold Statue of Dibella, Void Salts, Chillrend, an Ebony Helmet, and a Daedric Helmet.
*Barrels in Apprentice's Quarters are not safe containers, wardrobes are all safe.
*The weapons rack in Breezehome, Hjerim, Vlindrel Hall, and Proudspire Manor may not work. (known for all platforms)
*The bookshelves and weapon plaques in Breezehome may not work. (PS3)(360)
*The Dagger cases, display cases, weapon plaques, and bookshelves in Hjerim may not work. (360)
* For the mannequins, items freshly placed into the mannequins will make that part of the mannequin becomes invisible. For example, putting a helmet will make the head invisible. It will become visible again if you remove any other part from the mannequin. Players can put the whole set of armour into the mannequin with an extra ring, then exit the activation, enter again, remove the ring from the mannequin. The body parts will be visible again.

67.142.163.26: comment on a glitch, that may not be a glitch. Line of sight is obstructed

Trailquality
This article documents general glitches that have been discovered in Skyrim.

<span style="color:red">Quest-specific glitches do not belong on this page but on the appropriate quest page</span>

This is not an exhaustive list of every anomaly that may possibly occur. There are numerous minor animation oddities and graphical surprises that you can uncover if you try to trigger them; if you choose to do a bizarre and unpredictable set of actions, it is likely that the game's response will also be bizarre and unpredictable. Rather, these articles only document glitches that other readers are likely to be interested in learning about: i.e., those that have serious consequences; those that can be exploited to your advantage; those that most players are likely to uncover during standard gameplay.

Furthermore, these articles focus on general glitches. Glitches that are only encounter under very specific situations are documented on other articles: problems during a quest will be documented on that quest's article; problems that only occur in a given location will be described on that place's article; etc. If you are looking for information on a problem that you've encountered, you should start by searching the same way as non-problem-related information by looking at the wiki article on that topic. This article is the place to look if there is an inexplicable problem whose source is not obvious, or for problems that don't fit into one of the site's other articles.

Guidelines for Adding Glitches
The following are guidelines for adding glitches. Please adhere to these before submitting.
* Entries must describe a glitch, i.e., some type of game malfunction that results from normal play.
** Therefore, any potential glitch must meet all of the following criteria:
*** It must be a mistake in the game mechanics. Any event that is a logical consequence of an intended game feature (no matter how extreme) is not a glitch.
*** It must not be triggered by using the console, cheating, or another glitch. The source of the problem in such a situation is the console command, or the original glitch; the developers cannot be held responsible for the consequences of events that they clearly did not add into gameplay.
*** It must not be caused by third-party mods. Such glitches should be reported to the mod creator, and not here.
*** It must be reproducible. If the problem does not recur after reloading a save game, then the problem is not a reproducible glitch. If the problem is specific to a single save game, and does not happen to anyone else, it is not a reproducible glitch. If there is any chance the problem is caused by a bad sector on your hard drive, defective computer memory, or a power surge then it is not a glitch.
** In addition, all glitches must meet at least one of the following criteria:
*** Crash the game, or somehow make it impossible to continue playing (unavoidable death, frozen in a cutscene, game enters an infinite loop, etc.)
*** Make it impossible to complete a quest. However, such glitches generally do not belong here (see "Entries must belong on the main Glitches series of articles" below).
*** Cause a permanent change to game data. For example, glitches that reproduce items, provide unlimited amounts of gold, or permanently change your character's attributes.
*** Be a common problem. For any minor game anomalies to belong here, they must be problems that most players encounter while playing the game, and must be anomalies that most players will recognize as a mistake in the game.
** Examples of problems that do not qualify as glitches are:
*** Items that are reproduced as a consequence of standard game features. For example, in Oblivion the Skull of Corruption is a standard game feature that reproduces a character and all of his/her belongings. Therefore obtaining duplicate items using the Skull is not a glitch. Similarly, other exploits that are based on standard game features, and not mistakes in the game engine, do not belong here.
*** Unexpected animation or physics that only occur if a player does a specific sequence of unusual actions; such anomalies will not be encountered by players as part of regular gameplay.
*** Minor problems that have been fixed by an official patch do not belong on the article. Since most players have installed the official patches, any pre-patch problems are by definition no longer common problems. Furthermore, any non-minor problems that are significant enough to still be documented on the article must clearly state that the problem has been fixed by a patch (for example, by using an appropriate template).
* Entries must belong on the main Glitches series of articles. This series is only supposed to provide information on general glitches: i.e., ones where the source of the glitch is not clear, or that can be encountered under a variety of conditions.
** In particular, glitches specific to a single quest belong on the quest page. The only quest-specific glitches that belong here are ones which make it impossible to continue the game (i.e., players need forewarning about a serious problem) or glitches which are not obviously attributable to a quest (i.e., players are more likely to look for information here than on the quest article). Even in such cases, the main glitch description (causes, workarounds, fixes) belongs on the quest page. Only a brief summary and link to the quest page belong here.
** Similarly, glitches specific to a single location or a single NPC belong on the appropriate location page or NPC page.

* Entries must be useful for other readers. The entire purpose of UESPWiki is to help other readers; all entries must address the site's audience and take into account the needs and interests of other people who use the site.
** The entry must try to describe what causes the glitch. For example, just saying "The game crashed." is not enough. Some attempt must be made to explain what caused it or how the glitch can be reproduced. Adding solutions or workarounds (other than "Reload an earlier save.") will further provide constructive information that will help players. Entries that just tell a story about what happened to you are not relevant to other readers and do not belong on the site.
** The topic of the entry must identify the glitch at a glance. Titles of sections should be concise yet clearly identify the topic of the glitch. "Goof or a sign?" or "Raindrops keep falling on my head" are examples of poor titles.
** Entries should use good grammar and proper spelling. Readers should not have to struggle to decode illegible sentences, and should not have to guess at the intended meaning. If the site's patrollers can't understand an entry, it will be deleted.
** Both console and PC glitches belong on this page. There is no need to document the platform on which the glitch occurred, because almost all glitches are common to all platforms. The fact that you're on a PC, Xbox 360, or PS3 is only relevant if there is clear evidence that the glitch is platform-specific. However, possible remedies may need to be separated into console and PC sections.

Glitches
* Xbox22 In Riften if you speak to Ungrien who works at the black briar meadery. Ask him about the black briar meadery, persuade him to tell you what it is like to work there. You can constantly re-do that conversation for your speech skill to reach 100 very quickly.
* Xbox22 Dual wielding any two spells will normally decrease your magic to zero. When the blue bar hits zero, you stop casting the spell. If you were to instantly recast the spell, your magic would be at zero, but you would have an infinite spell duration. With spells like detect life, this can increase your alteration skill to 100 very quickly.
* Xbox22 When going to the Greybeards, when I try to switch my shout, the game stalls.

* Ps22 When favorited, identical improved weapons cannot be dual-wielded (two fine scimitars, for example).

*Xbox22 The house "Hjerim" in Windhelm has no working weapon placements and the display cases do not completely work. Dagger cases do work though.

* Pc22 Ps22 Xbox22 Equipping the Ancient Shrouded Cowl will not appear on your character. You can then equip a second head armor which will appear. Both pieces are considered equipped. If both objects are enchanted, the player will receive both effects.

* Pc22 Movable objects tend to disappear when they stop moving when pushed in-game. They still exist in the game, but are invisible until pushed again.

* Pc22 Some players may find that the effects for spells such as Flames and such do not have any streaming effects, merely the air around them, even from Dragons.

* Pc22 Players might find that their game's version of Vampirism does not change their Player character's eyes to black with a red iris, merely a red spot in the center, curiously NPC Vampires still have the black/red effect on their eyes.

*Xbox22 Occasionally when dropping a weapon from your inventory the discarded weapon will strike the player causing loss of health.

*Xbox22 Equipping a sword in the left hand instead of the right plays a simpler - and shorter - animation when drawing the sword.

* Xbox22 Frequently, and seemingly at random, sound effects lag for as much as 5 or 6 seconds, then will occur all at once. Don't know why this happens- I haven't been playing in an irregular manner.

* Pc22Ps22Xbox22 when dismounting a horse and pressing move forward the horse will move forward a little bit instead of the player right after the dismount animation is finished.

* Pc22 when attempting to examine items in game, you cannot rotate or zoom on the objects unless you are using the Xbox 360 controller. Some say that disabling the "gamepad" option in the settings menu will fix this, but for others, this problem still persists.
* To examine items on PC, using the default control setup
1) hover the mouse over the item in the inventory screen and scroll up using the mouse wheel
2) press and hold the left mouse button. left/right mouse movement will rotate, up/down zooms in and out

* Pc22 Some users have discovered that if you bind a spell into your right hand (using keyboard controls), it will remain fixed to that hand and can only be removed/changed with the left mouse button.

* Pc22 Xbox22 Ps22 Some spells are capable of launching dragon corpses hundreds of feet if the spell is cast at the corpse. Some spells that work include Raise Zombie, Magelight, Fury, and the Wabbajack spell. (Video)

* Pc22 When you leave a horse (nearly) vertically on a small cliff, dismount it, and mount it again, there is a possibility that you will get stuck in an infinite loading glitch.

* Pc22 If you initiate a conversation with an NPC while holding the walk/run button, the button will invert upon leaving the conversation. (For Example, if you use hold shift to walk, you will now have to hold shift to run) This can be remedied by press CAPS lock on PC.

* Pc22 If you are in a conversation with an NPC, and open the Steam In-game Interface using Shift+Tab, you will no longer be able to use Tab to end the conversation upon returning to the game, and will need to click on the exit button in the lower right of the screen; alternatively, you can press the shift key again before pressing tab.

* Pc22 Certain types of weapons when bound to a hotkey they will become unbound if more than one is in a players inventory when the key is used, this only occurs for weapons that cannot be equipped to each hand through hotkeys (i.e. daggers do not glitch like this but swords and greatswords do).

* Xbox22Pc22 When moving items between to/from a container, if an item which has multiple copies (but less than the amount for the quantity selection box to appear) is moved the entire menu will jump up one line while still having the item selected, moving the selected line up one, done enough times this can take the selection off the screen. May be corrected by moving out and back into that section.

* Pc22 If an NPC changes location (via doorway) while you are in conversation with them you will be unable to finish the conversation with them, when talked to they will repeat the first line of conversation but will have no conversation options

* Xbox22Pc22 Water does not render correctly in occasional chunks. The water still exists, but is invisible. In these instances, there may be a rectangular patch missing from the screen. Reloading a save file may fix this issue.

* Xbox22 Wolves and dogs run up and down (in the vertical plane) on doors while attempting to pass through, as though ignoring gravity.

* Xbox22Pc22Ps22 Characters that are killed by a Giant are often catapulted into the air.

* Xbox22Ps22 Characters that are killed by a sneak attack while sitting or laying down will disappear, or may even turn up somewhere else laying on the ground (this can become a problem for certain quests that you need to receive an object from the body)

* Xbox22 If you cast any shock-based spells on physics objects, they will be catapulted in the air. (Certain objects can damage the player and NPC's this way.)

* Xbox22 Occasionally when reanimated corpses die while being on a bridge, their dust will be on the bridge and directly under the bridge. Making 1 dust lootable the other dust not (while still saying it is not empty)

* Xbox22 When a torch is equipped in your left hand and you double tap the sprint button, your character will endlessly sprint, stopping only if you tap the sprint button again or fall from a small height (even if your stamina runs out, you won't stop running).

* Xbox22Pc22 Characters hit by frost icicles and arrows may have it stuck to them. For companions, it should go away eventually. For the player character, unequipping everything, saving, then reloading has been reported to solve the issue. Having the icicle stick inside is part of the animation, but it sometimes persists until the player unequippes and reloads.

* Xbox22Ps22 NPCs may continue to comment on how sickly you look, even after having a disease cured.

* Xbox22Pc22Ps22 Get anything purchasable from direct conversation for free. Make sure the seller is right next to a container (any drawer, chest, etc.). Buy the item from the seller through conversation and right after selecting "I'll take it", exit the conversation and quickly place all of your money inside of the container before it is removed from inventory. Exit from container and you'll have the item you purchased (this works expecially good for buying houses). Retreive your money from container and you'll have all of your money.
** Pc22Does not work when buying a horse. Gold is removed as soon as the buy dialog option is selected, leaving no time to select the container.
** Xbox22Does not work when buying house decorations. Gold is removed as soon as the buy dialogue option is selected.

* Xbox22 Dragons landing on stairs can get stuck causing them not to be able to attack until enough damage is done they then fly up into the air crashing into the ground shortly afterwards, this can be abused to make dragon fights much easier.

* Xbox22Ps22 Pausing during dialogue whilst an NPC is talking will sometimes cause the NPC to skip to their next line.

* Pc22 If the player has the Heavy Armor perk Conditioning and equips one armor from a stack of identical armors the weight of all armors in the stack is reduced to zero.

* Xbox22 Italian language: some alchemical components has the property of "fortifica Magicka" and other "fortifica magicka", the different capital letter cause that two right ingredients cannot be mixed. (fortifica is the translation of fortify)

* Pc22 Equip and remove an object providing fortify magicka, generate the infinite magicka glitch: (Video)

* Pc22 Xbox22 Ps22 DovahLupin glitch: If you put a basket on top of a bystander's head, they will not notice you commit crimes. (Video)-May be an unintended side effect of a purposely put in place game code.(The NPC's line of sight has been obstructed which is basically what determines a good steal). They can't see you, so how can they stop you?

* Pc22Ps22 Magicka regeneration will occasionally glitch out, giving the player an extremely high rate of magicka regeneration that continues while in combat and while casting spells (the rate being fast enough to constantly maintain virtually any channeled spell, including Wards). This state persists after saving and reloading. The cause appears to have something to do with effects that modify the magicka regeneration rate, especially the Restoration perk, but a consistent cause has not been identified. On the PC version, this glitch can be terminated by using the console to open the race selection menu; even if no changes are made, this has been shown to fix the issue.

* Xbox22 Using a floor hatch while having a zombie companion will cause the zombie to turn to dust over the hatch and make it unusable in the future.

* Xbox22Pc22 Curiously, if you choose to decorate your home/anywhere by dropping props and items from your inventory, if you re-enter the zone or reload a save you will find the items you positioned are not in their final location (where you put it after grabbing and moving them) but in the exact place where you dropped it from your inventory. Curiouslier, this seems to occur only when you load a save from that same area then immediately drop and rearrange the item before leaving. Loading the save, leaving the area, coming back, then drop/rearrange gets it to stick.

* Xbox22 Requires Steady Hand 2/2, that I am currently aware of. Walk through a door crouched and with a bow out. Once through, draw an arrow so that time slows down and then reload the auto-save. When the game reloads the whole world will be in slow motion, as if you had the arrow drawn all of the time. Drawing another arrow will turn off the slow time, but it is possible to change weapon and use magic without restoring normal time. Menus appear to work at normal speed.

* Xbox22 It is possible to obtain extra ore from veins while mining. If a player presses 'A' to start mining and once the third swing completes an ore is taken the player then immediately presses 'A' to stop mining, you can gain up to 3 ores this way as opposed to the normal 2. This is more beneficial in large mines such as Gloombound Mine.

* Xbox22Pc22Ps22 After brawling with certain NPC's and putting them in the 'wounded/limping' state, they may not recover back to normal without fast-travelling elsewhere & back.

* Pc22Xbox22 Skeletons of dragons may sometimes not be present when returning to the place they were killed, but will instead reappear somewhere else in town when fast travelling to there. For example, a dragon killed at in the courtyard of the College of Winterhold may instead appear in the center of the town of Winterhold, or a dragon killed in the center of Solitude may instead appear in the courtyard of the Blue Palace.

* Pc22 Enemies may occasionally get stuck on the scenery and animate incorrectly (extremely fast and jerky). Sometimes this may result in them catapulting high into the air and then falling to their deaths.

* Pc22 When on a trade screen with a merchant or follower, sometimes clicking on a particular menu item (such as Weapons or Misc) will exit the trade screen. (This usually happens because the selection doesn't always change when you mouse over a new option, when you left click, it actually registers it as a click on the previously selected menu item, so it closes the UI Pane)

* Pc22 Sometimes in conversations with an NPC, you will need to mouseover a option multiple times before it actually highlights the option. If you click the left mouse button, no matter where the mouse is positioned, it will always select the highlighted item. (This is especially a pain when long conversations are repeated, when exiting conversation is not an option.)

* Pc22 When an enemy would normally run a script upon spotting the player, killing the enemy with a sneak attack may prevent the script from running, often with gamebreaking consequences.

* Xbox22 Transforming into a werewolf sometimes equips your sword (even if it wasn't equipped before activating beast mode). Attacking raises your 1 handed skill and does substantially less damage than a normal werewolf attack.

* Xbox22 Occasionally when casting Bound Axe, the player may have no weapon or spells show up as equppied but will constantly have the animations of carrying the bound axe. The player cannot draw any weapons or spells even if he changes equipment, and cannot sheathe this phantom axe. This effect does not seem to wear off when the spell would have ended.

* Pc22 Augmented Flames/Frost/Shock perks do not increase the damage of Flame/Frost/Lightning Cloak spells.

* Pc22 A bizarre and seemingly random glitch occasioanlly occurs with mammoths and giants. Around rocky areas, mammoths may have difficulty chasing the player when hostile. If killed, the mammoth/ nearby giants may sink through the ground. This does not seem to affect the player apart from not being able to loot the corpses.

* Pc22 Occasionally, when using the "Take All" option in a container, the item (usually gold) will duplicate. If you then attempt to take the object, the game will immediately crash.

* Xbox22 When in Markarth, being arrested by a guard the only option to choose is to go to Jail, but when chosen the conversation stops but the player doesnt go to Jail, making it impossible for the player to loose his bounty in Markarth.

* Xbox22 Occasionally when creating a new game from a previous game where you had an off hand spell, that spell can rare transition to that new character and be used to level said skill during the initial portion of game play. The spell name will not be shown in spell listing. (Found playing an unpatched game)

* Pc22 After an unusual companion death, they may reanimate, and walk backwards on the spot: (Video)

* Xbox22 In a certain areas after looting a necromancers body, you may start to lost health almost instantaneously and nothing can be done to prevent it as it seems no enemy is visible. Tried it with 2 separate characters and saves.

* Pc22 Soul gems do not increase in value after filled with a soul.

* Pc22 Dropping a player-filled soul gem on the ground will clear it of its soul. Occurs with containers as well but not consistently, i.e. some or none or all gems will be cleared seemingly randomly. Does not apply to bought or found gems which already contain a soul.

* Ps22 When doing the Stormcloak mission to take Whiterun the buildings and map reset, because of this the house becomes locked after the mission, if you deposited your key in your house you have no way to get back in the house and everything in it.

* Xbox22 Dropping a large number of books at once (not notes) causes the books to fuse.

* Pc22 Possible Easter Egg/Glitch: If you open the storage with remaining page from Mysterium Xerxes and burn it/freeze it... It will turn into a bucket.

* Pc22 Xbox22 Ps22 Mill workers don't seem to go to work everyday, if a Mill worker isn't at the mill at 8:00am break into his house, he should leave his house and head to the mill.

* Xbox22 It is impossible to cure yourself from lycantropy

*Xbox22 While attempting a power attack with a dagger(s), it begins as a normal attack, immediately interrupted by the said power attack. Both hits will connect. Makes dagger precision difficult. Tested on two new game saves.

* Xbox22 Occasionally, while wearing the dragon priest masks, they will cause your head and face to disappear. (I've only noticed this so far while wearing the Arch-Mage robes from Winterhold) To fix it, you will have to go to dashboard and restart Skyrim or reset your xbox.

The island of Vvardenfell is one of six Imperial administrative districts of the Morrowind province. It serves as the setting for the game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Vvardenfell is an island subcontinent located inside the bay-like Inner Sea and is almost completely surrounded by land except for its northern coast, which meets the Sea of Ghosts. The district is dominated by the great volcano, Red Mountain, that formed the island; the Inner Sea is likely to be a gigantic crater. The district is characterized by arid wastes, rocky highlands and coastal wetlands filled with unusual flora and fauna unique to Vvardenfell. Early in the Fourth Era, Vvardenfell was destroyed after the Ministry of Truth crashed into Vivec City causing Red Mountain to erupt. Most of the island was covered in ash, forcing the population to leave for the island of Solstheim.<noinclude></noinclude>

Previously a Temple preserve under Imperial protection, Vvardenfell Territory was reorganized in 3E 414 as an Imperial Provincial District. Vvardenfell had been maintained as a preserve administrated by the Temple since the Treaty of the Armistice in 2E 896, and except for the independent Ashland tribes and a few Great House settlements sanctioned by the Temple, Vvardenfell was previously undeveloped. The region was host to large populations before the War of the First Council; few remained by the time of the reorganization. perhaps due to the Blight. When the centuries-old Temple ban on trade and settlement of Vvardenfell was revoked by King Llethan of Morrowind, a flood of Imperial colonists and Great House Dunmer came to Vvardenfell, expanding old settlements and building new ones.

The new District was divided into Redoran, Hlaalu, Telvanni, and Temple Districts, each separately administered by local House Councils or Temple Priesthoods, and all under the advice and consent of Vedam Dren and the District Council in Ebonheart.<noinclude>
Since the reorganization, Vvardenfell is ruled by the Grand Council in Ebonheart, which consists of representatives from the main powers present on Vvardenfell: The three Great Houses Hlaalu, Redoran and Telvanni, the Tribunal Temple, the Imperial Commission and the Imperial Magistrate. Duke Vedam Dren of House Hlaalu is the head of the council, representative of the Emperor and leader of the Vvardenfell district.
Local law became a mixture of House Law and Imperial Law in House Districts, jointly enforced by House guards and Legion guards, with Temple law and Imperial law enforced in the Temple district by Ordinators. The Temple was still recognized as the majority religion, but worship of the Nine Divines was protected by the legions and encouraged by Imperial cult missions.

Commerce
Imports and exports are tightly-controlled by the East Empire Company, which deals largely with Imperial-friendly House Hlaalu. The company mines raw ebony and glass on the island. It holds exclusive charters on these items and most other native commodities, such as local spirits and agricultural products. Outside these official channels, the Empire forbids the trading of Moon Sugar, skooma, and Dwemer artifacts. As such, Smuggling is big business. Slavery is legal in Morrowind, and House Dres competes with smugglers to supply the market with forced labor.

Geography
Created by the last giant eruption of Red Mountain, Vvardenfell has several regions: Ascadian Isles, Ashlands, Azura's Coast, Bitter Coast, Grazelands, Molag Amur, Red Mountain, Sheogorad, West Gash and Zafirbel Bay. The central and southeastern regions are mountainous wastes regularly scoured by Ash storms.

The biggest towns are Balmora, Vivec, Ald'ruhn and Sadrith Mora. Also on the island, various remains of distant times are found in form of Daedric Shrines, ancient Velothi Towers, Dwemer Ruins, and post-Velothi Dunmer Strongholds.

People
Native to Vvardenfell since the First Era are the dark-skinned, red-eyed Dunmer (known as the Chimer ages ago), which make about half of the population. The other half are divided roughly equally among the other nine races of Tamriel. Inhabitants of Vvardenfell include members of three of the five Great Houses, Velothi commoners, nomadic Ashlanders and members of the Tribunal Temple, to which all wilderness areas ostensibly belong. Outlanders are not particularly welcome, especially in Telvanni-controlled areas. The Imperial Legion and Imperial guilds are well established though and accept foreigners openly. House Hlaalu is also rather welcoming to them, as evidenced by their two non-Dunmer Councilors.

Dunmer inhabitants of Vvardenfell have a keenly-developed sense of identity, as they live in a sacred place that has been host to many of the defining moments in Dunmeri history. The common people regard themselves as servants of the Living Gods and the heirs of the Velothi movement. Saint Veloth is credited with bringing the Chimer and by extension, the Dunmer to their proper place in the world. Daedra worship has long-since fallen out of favor with most of the population, but it still holds a valued place in culture and tradition, as the Tribunal are regarded as either complementing or amicably replacing the worship of the Lord of Misrule.

Central to the psyche of the Vvardenfell Dunmer is Red Mountain, whose geography and silhouette dominates the region. Constant storms dictate the course of everyday life and give the different environments their distinctive characters. The volcano also keeps the island in a constant state of flux, as evidenced by old maps showing the entire island made up of Ashlands, lava rivers running to the sea, and accounts of ash falling on the streets of Vivec.

Transportation
Inhabitants of Vvardenfell rely on beasts of burden, such as Guar or Silt Striders (giant insects), or make use of various seagoing vessels to transport people and cargo. Guild Guides provided by the Mages Guild can also provide transportation.

Religion
Traditionally Ancestors and Daedra Worshippers, the people here now have two main religions, the Imperial Cult of the Nine Divines and the Tribunal Temple, who worship the Almsivi. Additionally, the Ashlanders have their Nerevarine Cult, as well as the older Velothi beliefs (ancestor and Daedra worship). The Temple's Ordinators traditionally outlaw and persecute religious sects other than their own, but the Imperial presence has brought a certain amount of freedom of religion; nevertheless, religions deemed damaging to the Empire are unprotected and the Ordinators pursue their members mercilessly. Cults devoted to the House of Troubles, despite being banned by the Temple, have drawn a cosmopolitan following in the wilderness regions.

Red Mountain Eruption
In the absence of Vivec, the Ministry of Truth became unstable. The Dunmer Vuhon created a device known as The Ingenium that kept the Ministry of Truth floating over Vivec by consuming souls. While only undesirables and criminals were originally used, eventually it used souls which could continue to feed the Ingenium without causing immediate death. When the Dunmer woman Ilzheven was taken to power the machine, her former lover Sul rescued her from the machine. This caused the Ministry of Truth to crash into Vivec City, which led to Red Mountain erupting. The eruption led to most of the island being covered in ash, leading to a mass exodus to the nearby island of Solstheim.
