Number of dreams that can be stored in the skull?
What is the maximum number of dreams that can be stored within the Skull?

Also, I've used it already to siphon dreams, but what are the rules? So far, those are the one I've determined from using it: if used it on a sleeping person, it will simply absorb five of his/her dreams, but only once, the second time, it will not have any effect. If used on someone awake, it will send a blast of 50 points of damage as long as the Skull has dreams, if not, it will be 20 points of damage. Anything to add, or anything wrong in what is stated above? 11:03, 26 February 2012
:How did you know it was collecting "5 dreams"? Was that number displayed somewhere? I watched a friend try to collect dreams - but the staff appeared no different and the description did not change. I came to this page for help, but it lacks information (as the above user has pointed out). Since the table says it will Dreamsteal for 43200 seconds, is that how long the +30pts damage lasts? Nothing was listed in the active effects page. Is that time affected by how many dreams are stolen or does the timer just reset for each newly stolen dream? Also, can we get some information about these spell effects? Dreamsteal doesn't link anywhere to explain how it works (nor is it on this page). Walking Nightmare? Psychic Agony? These also are not described, nor linked to anywhere else. Since every use seems to do all 3 effects, stealing a dream will also anger everyone else nearby. Can't say we noticed the non-sleeping affected NPCs having any kind of agony though (no screaming, no confusion); they just attacked the player normally. --Amsuko 23:48, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

::Hi, perhaps someone reads this here and can put this informations on the main article of the staff (english is not my native language, so someone should check for the right spelling etc.):
::Dreamsteal: As described five dreams are stolen from the target (the number should be shown in a message; otherwise you can look it up in the CK at the scripts of the quest "DA16SkullHandler"). I think the 12 hours (43200 seconds) just are some kind of "cooling down period", in which this spell can't affect the same target a second time. After this 12 hours, you can steal new dreams of the same target (in case the target sleeps). You find a correspondent condition in the magic effect of the staff (Creation Kit).
::Psychic Agony: Seems to reduce the target health about 15 points - so this is the base damage of the staff. It's not bound to the number of stolen dreams.
::Waking Nightmare: Kind of an area damage (40 points in area of 5 feet) to all nearby targets, as long as there are stolen dreams in the staff. This is the bonus damage, which you get, if you steal dreams.
::I hope this helps.
}}

Quick Walkthrough
#Talk to any of the named merchants about work
#Convince Ienas Sarandas of the errors of his path
#Return the items to the merchants for a +1 in Reputation, minor rewards and better prices
#Evil Path is to keep the items or kill him

Detailed Walkthrough
Ienas Sarandas has lost more than money
In Ald'ruhn, ask around and you will learn that Ienas Sarandas has lost his patrimony betting on guar and has sold his family silverware to pay his debts. Go to any of the merchants and they will offer you work. It seems that Ienas Sarandas has failed to pay up for the goods he has purchased.

Guiding him back to the right Path
Look for Ienas Sarandas in his house. Ask him about the goods. Don't bother threatening him, it does no good. If you have a Speechcraft skill of at least 50, or can raise his Disposition towards you to at least 60, then he will give you the goods to return on his behalf. Alternately, if you have a copy of the book Saryoni's Sermons, or a bottle of Greef, Cyrodiilic Brandy, or Flin, you can convince him to mend his ways. (He will not take the book or the drinks from you; you just have to be carrying one of them. There's actually a copy of Saryoni's Sermons in his house, on the small round table. He won't mind you taking it.) Using any of these techniques results in him giving you the items and joining the temple. If you can get him to do this, he will show up in the Ald'ruhn temple a few days later.

Evil Path
Alternatively, you could just get the Ienas Sarandas conversation topic from one of the merchants, talk to Sarandas, get him to give you his clothing (using one of the above methods), and keep it for yourself. The Brocade Shirt and Silk Pants both have the enchant values of their exquisite counterparts, while the Racer Suede Belt, Glass Ring, Ebony Ring and Firejade Amulet have the enchant values of their expensive counterparts. You can also just kill him for the items, but note that if you do so, you can still complete the quest but your disposition with the locals may actually decrease.

The Merchants
The merchants are quite easy to find, three of them are right outside Ienas' house. The enchanter and the fine clothier are located Under Skar on the bottom floor. Returning all of the items in a peaceful way will earn you 1 Reputation point. The merchants also give you some gold and better prices, along with praise for your skillful solution.

Notes
* If you use Saryoni's Sermons to convince Sarandas, his disposition towards you increases by 30. If you use alcohol, it doesn't increase at all.

The Items
;Brocade Shirt & Silk Pants: Return to Bivale Teneran the Clothier and you'll receive 50 gold and +40 Disposition.
;Designer Shoes: Return to Llether Vari and receive 50 gold and +40 Disposition
;Ebony Ring & Glass Ring: Return to Daynes Redothril the Pawnbroker and receive 50 gold and +40 Disposition.
;Firejade Amulet: Return to Bevene Releth and receive 25 gold and +40 Disposition
;Racer Suede Belt: Return to Tiras Sadus and receive 25 gold and +40 Disposition.

Notes
*This quest is actually five smaller quests combined into one, in terms of how they appear in your journal. Oddly, these quest names misspell his last name as "Sarandus" instead of "Sarandas". The names of the quests are:
**Bevene Releth and Ienas Sarandus
**Bivale Teneran and Ienas Sarandus
**Daynes Redothril and Ienas Sarandus
**Llether Vari and Ienas Sarandus
**Tiras Sadus and Ienas Sarandus

Bugs
* If you retrieve the shirt and pants for Bivale Teneran peacefully you won't get the 50 gold reward. The script that is supposed to give you the gold has been mistakenly attached to a comment on the previous line, so it never executes. Completing the quest by killing Ienas will give you the reward, but also the negative consequences.
** Pc22 The console command <code>player->additem gold_001 50</code> can be used to add the gold manually.
}}

Quick Walkthrough
# Speak to Nileno Dorvayn about business and say that again; Nileno will task you with intercepting orders for a dead Redoran.
# Nileno will give you a helmet to disguise your face when you approach Neminda.
# Find Nimenda in the Redoran Council Hall under-Skar in Ald'ruhn. Wear the helmet when you use the code words Orphan of Arnesia.
# Retrieve the orders, and return them to Nileno for your reward of 500 gold and the helmet she gave you.

Detailed Walkthrough
First Order of Business
For your first task as a House Hlaalu member, Nileno Dorvayn at the Balmora council manor instructs you to intercept the orders of a dead Redoran from Neminda in the Council Hall under-Skar in Ald'ruhn. Conveniently, your voice seems to match that of the Redoran. If your character is male, the dead Redoran's name is Felsen Sethandus; for female characters, the dead Redoran is Relmerea Saram. Nileno informs you that the dead Redoran was disfigured in battle, and therefore always wore their Redoran helm in public.

Intercept Orders
Nileno will give a Native Gah-Julan Bonemold Helm, similar to those commonly worn by House Redoran, and you are to wear it at all times when around Neminda. Note that while it may look just like any other bonemold helm, even in name, Neminda can tell the difference somehow, so you must use the specific helm you're given. No other bonemold helm will do. Travel to the Redoran Council Hall under-Skar in Ald'ruhn, and locate the Redoran quest-giver Neminda, who should be just inside the front door. The two quickest pathways to Ald'ruhn are through the Mages Guild Guild Guide, or the Silt Strider. Wear the helmet when chatting with Neminda. Once you meet Neminda, you are to use the code phrase Orphan of Arnesia to identify yourself and collect the parcel. Neminda seems none the wiser, and gives the parcel to you for delivery.

Completing the Quest
Though Neminda tells you to take the parcel to Maar Gan, you are to instead return it to Nileno in Balmora. She will congratulate you and reward you with 500 gold. She says you can keep the helmet she gave you too.

Notes
*If you are an Argonian or a Khajiit, you will not receive this quest as you will not be able to wear the full faced helmet. (Plus you'd think the tail would be a good give-away...) Oddly enough, the helm is all you need to wear. You could go completely naked except for the helm, and even if you're obviously not Dunmer, Neminda won't figure out that you're not who you say you are.
*If you come to Neminda afterwards, and discuss Orphan of Arnesia, she will tell you to leave and never come back.
*Arnesia comes from a war between the Dunmer and the Argonians, as mentioned in this book.
*Neminda's orders are in code, but it's a relatively simple reversed alphabet cypher. See Neminda's Orders for the text and translation.
*The helm looks exactly like any other Native Gah-Julan Bonemold Helm, so be careful that you don't lose it, sell it, or enchant it. If you by chance lose the helm you are supposed to use, you can (PC version) add the item using the item code <code>bonemold_gah-julan_hhda</code>.
* A subtle hint for which helm is correct, if you lose track, is that the correct helm is worth slightly more than other seemingly identical helms (167 gold instead of 165).
* If you ask Neminda about Orphan of Arnesia without wearing the helmet but carrying it in your inventory, she will attack you.
