:Since I just recently recruited Faendal to the blades (as of 1.4), I can try and fill in some of this info.
:*Quest becomes available after completing Alduin's Wall. Delphine and Esbern finish examining the wall, and then explore the place briefly. Then they'll settle in, usually by sitting at the table in the main room. At this time (not sure if you can do this sooner, though), they'll have a dialog option for rebuilding the blades.
:*Will test briefly. Other pages indicate that no more than 3 may be recruited.
:*After recruiting Faendal and getting him settled in (so he'd stop wearing the armor I gave him and wear the Blade's armor instead), I did not see the Blades armor in his inventory. The only way to possibly get more armor, it seems, would be to either use the console (click on npc, then in console, type `removeallitems cb433` to transfer all their items to the chest in Breezehome's secondary bedroom), or, if the armor at Sky Haven Temple respawns, that would be another option.
:*As far as I can tell, the only other way the blades affects your follower is
:**Default armor (blades armor)
:**Default location (sky haven temple)
:**Dialog - whenever you talk to them, they'll usually say something to the effect of "I'm a blade" and "As a blade, my duty is to kill dragons". This does not change their dialog options.
:*Recruits generally either sit at a chair (Faendal liked the single chair near the wall, but that was just 1 recruit), sleep in a bed (which bugged out for me so that I wasn't able to talk to them - will test more later), or enters the room with Delphine and Esbern from the cavern entrance, usually to sit down at their chairs again.
:*Haven't gotten to dragon hunts yet.

:: I have confirmed, using the CK, that you cannot induct more than 3 people. The dialog option I brought someone to induct into the Blades. has a condition that a blades count variable must be less than 3, and that's the only dialog option that I can see to induct members. Of course, it looks pretty easy to change it so you can have more, either via a mod or through the console. --IsmAvatar 19:41, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Marriage
The follower page and follower discussion has no information on this-- can your spouse become a member of the blades? If so, does it no longer make them your spouse? 75.80.97.155 05:10, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Answer: She still stays your spouse (dialogue options that only your spouse can say). If she becomes a blade however, she will not go home if you say "its time to part ways"

:Will not go home? Whose home? Their home? Your home? Not go back to Sky Haven Temple? The article should be explicit about where they go to (i.e. if they go to Sky Haven Temple when you part ways, it should say that) 67.239.158.14

::As far as I know, marriage/spouses is completely irrelevant to recruitment. Blades recruitment only works for Followers, because they need to follow you to the temple and take the oath. Spouses don't follow you unless they are also a follower. Also, I would assume that once a follower/spouse is recruited, they should take up residence at Sky Haven Temple, just like any other follower. For instance, assume you marry Camilla Valerius. She is not a follower, so she cannot be recruited to the blades. However, if you marry someone like Iona (Your personal housecarl of Riften), who is a follower, you can then command them to follow you, take them to Sky Haven Temple, and recruit them, and they should set up new residence there. --174.55.124.57 08:03, 7 February 2012 (UTC) (IsmAvatar)
Death
"Ask Esbern about dragon lairs" is bugged?
I have given three followers to Delphine and I have gained the "Ask Esbern about dragon lairs" objective. The marker points to Esbern, but he is walking around somewhere south of Whiterun instead of somewhere in Sky Haven Temple! And when I try to talk to him, I don't have any dialogue option! He just says "Do you need something?", nothing about dragon lairs! Is this a bug? Does anybody else have it? How can I solve this? RobertoO 18:55, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Answer: You dont need tot talk to esbern just talk to that other chick. they both tell you the same thing

Here's a question: Who's the "other chick"?
:I think he means Delphine.RIM 20:31, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Dragon Lair bug
Esbern points to a lair that was already cleared. There is no dragon to kill at the quest pointer. Killing other dragon won't complete the objective. There is a similar bug in Dragon Seeker quest, although in Dragon seeker quest, by reloading and doing other quests to pass time, Farkas/Vilkas will eventually point to a different lair. I am not sure if that fix will work for Esbern.(ZekunD 05:15, 9 January 2012 (UTC))
:Waiting 30 game days didn't solve. The lair seems to be bugged (PS3). Now I have 2 bugged lairs (Dragontooth Crater and Bonestrewn Crest). (ZekunD 01:40, 11 January 2012 (UTC))

: Housecarls make for the best Blades. They all have the 4 skills they'll use the most already tagged, and, unlike most followers, can level up to 50. J'Zargo and Onmund are also very efficient, and having a mage or two on your side while fighting a dragon can really help. Marcurio and Derkeethus aren't the best around, but they can't die so it's not so bad 82.243.194.53 10:52, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

: I would suggest that if you really want to fight dragons in this setup choose either three fighters or three mages. The reason is due to Friendly Fire which result multiple followers start fight each other after the main enemy defeated. For example, when one of my thrall is a mage and my follower is a fighter this occurs regularly because the mage hit the fighter almost surely.--89.23.180.18 11:45, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Follower's stats after recruiting
Do folower's stats reset after recruiting (to match your current level)? Can anyboy on PC check it?

Because if it is so then this provides some kind of fix to the non-upgrading stats problem if you meet your favorite follower too early (like if you come to Riften and meet Marcurio and Mjoll at level 1).--89.23.179.32 04:41, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
:I'm using Faendal on patch 1.4, and his level already matches mine (23 - I met him and joined up with him somewhere between levels 1-5) prior to and after recruiting. --174.55.124.57 07:54, 7 February 2012 (UTC) (IsmAvatar)

:: The problem is that the formal level of a follower upgraded correctly but actual stats (Health, Magicka, Stamina, Skills) remain unchanged after you meet him/her at first time. So if you meet Lydia or Vilkas when they have 100 Health they keep this impressive stat through the rest of the game.--89.23.180.18 11:36, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

::: Patch 1.4: `getavinfo health` and stamina report the same values before and after recruiting to the blades. In Faendal's case, 92 for health from a reference base value of 250 (huh?) and 83 for stamina, base value of 210. --IsmAvatar 19:09, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Lost Armor
According to the article: Any armor given to them prior to their induction will be removed from their inventory. I am unable to confirm this.

I'm using patch 1.4, and I just inducted Faendal into the blades wearing Dwemer armor. At first, he continued to wear his original armor. I then had him follow me, and then told him to leave, and then I waited for about a day. When I returned, I found him wearing the blades armor. I told him to follow me again, and then traded with him to see his inventory, and he still had the Dwemer armor and all the other items I had given him. I was unable to see his new Blades armor, so it must be a new hidden default. When I gave him some item (a 1H sword), he immediately switched back to his original gear (the Dwemer armor, etc) as expected. Until someone can explain where they got this idea from, or if it is indeed fixed in 1.4, I'm altering the article to say that they may lose their armor.

Esbern points to a lair that was already cleared. There is no dragon to kill at the quest pointer. Killing other dragon won't complete the objective. I told him to follow me again, and then traded with him to see his inventory, and he still had the Dwemer armor and all the other items I had given him. Answer: She still stays your spouse (dialogue options that only your spouse can say). If she becomes a blade however, she will not go home if you say "its time to part ways"

==Quick Walkthrough==

# Locate and bring three suitable followers to Delphine.
# Ask Esbern about dragon lairs.

Detailed Walkthrough
After completing Alduin's Wall, you can help rebuild the Blades by bringing followers to Sky Haven Temple. They will be asked to take an oath, and thereby join the Blades. You can still ask them to follow you after they join the Blades, and will move to Sky Haven. There have been mixed reports that any armor given to them prior to their induction may be removed from their inventory.

Notes
* Be mindful to remove any Dragon Priest masks from the follower's inventory prior to inducting them into the Blades; it will be lost! This renders the quest in Bromjunaar Sanctuary impossible to complete. Tested on Xbox with the follower Marcurio. Interestingly irritating, he actually kept his other armor and weapons, and only lost the mask.
*Players who have the bug where they cannot obtain a follower, as possible followers say the player already has one, can be fixed using this method, but can only be done 3 times.
* Hirelings that join the blades can be hired for free after they move to the temple.
* If one of the new recruits dies for any reason, they cannot be replaced by inducting another Follower.

Bugs
*There might occur a bug where Esbern is just walking around in a random place. When the player tries to talk to him, there is no dialogue option and he just says 'Did you say something?'.
*Some followers may not move into Sky Haven Temple, and once dismissed will travel back to their place of recruitment.
:Since I just recently recruited Faendal to the blades (as of 1.4), I can try and fill in some of this info.
:*Quest becomes available after completing Alduin's Wall. Delphine and Esbern finish examining the wall, and then explore the place briefly.
:*As far as I can tell, the only other way the blades affects your follower is
:**Default armour (blades armour)
Confirm this, and Delphine will make Lydia take the oath of the Blades. She then is a member of the new Blades and no longer your housecarl. You are now free to get a new housecarl from one of the Jarls of Skyrim. This is one way of getting a new housecarl, as you can only have one at a time.
# Go to the Temple of Mara and attend your wedding ceremony.
# Select a house for you and your new spouse to move into.

Detailed Walkthrough
<!-- Instructions: The detailed walkthrough should provide full information about the quest, organized into paragraphs. Spoilers belong in this section.-->
If you are interested in getting married, you must first speak to Maramal in Riften. He can be found in The Bee and Barb tavern preaching to the locals. Talk to him about getting married and he will instruct you to get an Amulet of Mara. You may purchase one from him at this point for a small fee.

Now you must find an NPC in whom you have an interest. The person that you wish to marry must have a high disposition for you. This is easily achieved by performing a quest for that person. When you have met your ideal soulmate you must wear the amulet which will give you new dialogue options concerning marriage.

Ask the person to marry you and if they say yes you can organize a wedding ceremony the next day by talking to Maramal. Early in the morning the next day your spouse will be waiting for you in the Temple of Mara

Go through with the ceremony and you will be now legally married! Your first decision you must make is to decide where to live. You may live in your spouse's house or any houses that you own. Good luck!

Notes
*You can call off the wedding during the ceremony if you no longer wish to get married. However, this will cause your guests, fiancee, and Maramel to be upset with you.
*You may be married only once.

Bugs
*If a follower has been killed prior to this quest, they may drop through the ceiling of the Temple of Mara at the same time that your spouse and his or her family (if they have any) arrive. This causes you to automatically fail your marriage attendance. Luckily you can talk to your spouse again and usually the wedding goes through glitch free, though users wishing to avoid all this should not take followers on particularly risky adventures. This was fixed with patch 1.2, according to the patch's release notes.
TOCrightVarious NPCs and creatures can follow you while you're playing the game and be your ally. These followers can fight at your side; some can also carry your equipment and perform other tasks. Followers can be divided into those who follow you indefinitely (until they die or are dismissed), and those who follow you temporarily (for example, during a quest).

Permanent followers usually become available after you complete a quest of some kind. Most players will meet Lydia as their first follower, after completing the main story quest Dragon Rising, but there are also many others. You can also find mercenaries for hire in the cities and recruit certain dogs in the game. You can have at most one permanent NPC follower and one dog follower at any time.

Some NPCs follow you temporarily for the duration of a quest. If you avoid completing the quest and go somewhere else, they may follow you around. As many of these NPCs are unkillable, and you can have several followers at the same time, you can use them to fight difficult enemies in a different questline.

Commands
You can interact with permanent followers by talking with them (outside of combat). You will then be able to exchange items with them, or give a command, depending on their abilities:
Note; You cannot interact in any way with your follower while you are trespassing, they will reply with "You're not supposed to be in here". Orders that can be given to followers:
* Attack another NPC or creature
* Wait at a given location
* Follow the player again
* Use an object, such as a lever or a chair
* Loot containers
* Sleep in a bed (useful for Vampires)
* Use staffs and scrolls
* Fill soul gems including The Black Star and Azura's Star (if a soultrap or fiery soultrap weapon is equipped)
* Chop wood/mine ore. The benefit of this is that you can avoid the animation and your follower does not get encumbered
* Leave your service (The follower will return to his normal home and routine)

Two of these commands have secondary benefits in certain situations:
* Followers do not need lockpicks to open containers.
* A follower can pick up a "placed" skill book, which you can then take from their inventory without having to read it first, allowing you to save it for later.

Also, followers can use a torch (Only one is needed, it will never deplete). Quest specific temporary followers usually do not take orders or if they do only limited ones like the wait command.

If you ask a follower to perform an illegal activity, you will be held responsible for the crime, and your bounty will increase accordingly. If you are hidden though, most crimes you command your follower to commit will go unnoticed. However, many followers will refuse to commit crimes and will report you to the guards if they see you committing a crime.

If your follower is left to wait for a long time, a message will appear that the follower has grown tired of waiting and will start walking to their originating location.

You can trade items with some of your Followers to equip them with better items or store excess loot. Sometimes they will refuse to equip the items you give them. Pickpocketing the items you wish them to replace with the improved items can help fix this. It can also allow you to do this with NPCs who will not trade their equipped items with you. However, it requires the Misdirection (for weapons) and Perfect touch (for armor) perks to achieve this.

Giving a non-essential Follower any of your custom enchanted weapons or shields, letting them die, then looting directly from their corpse, is the only way to remove those enchantments on the items. This only works with weapons and shields that are custom-enchanted by the player; it will not remove the enchantment on artifacts or generic enchanted gear found or bought.

Follower Stats
A follower's skills, health, and other stats are set when they are first created (which is typically when you enter their starting cell, become a Thane, and so on) and never improve from that point, outside of a handful of special cases. <!-- NOTE: don't get confused just because getlevel says their level matches yours still even after a levelup. for all practical purposes, they haven't changed at all --> Each follower has a maximum level (which varies for each), and a specific set of favored skills, which are dictated by their class.

If you have an attachment to a certain follower and wish to continue to use them after they have become obsolete, there are a few ways to update their stats:
*By dismissing them, then opening the console, clicking the follower in question, entering the commands <code>disable</code> and then <code>enable</code>, closing the console, then asking them to rejoin you. The follower's inventory will remain unaffected, but his or her stats will all be updated to match the player's current level.
*By selecting the follower in the console, then entering the command <code>setclass <ClassID></code>, where <ClassID> is the FormID of their Classes. Class information for each follower can be found on their respective pages. For example, J'zargo, who is of the CombatSorcerer class, would have his stats updated with <code>setclass 13179</code>. This method does not require the follower's dismissal.
*This can also be done on the console version with the use of the Wabbajack, simply save your game, dismiss your follower, and use the Wabbajack on them until they turn into a rabbit, chicken or a mudcrab. You will be able to tell if it worked if they have reverted to their default gear upon turning back into their normal selves. (Tested on a low level J'Zargo, Wabbajack damage brought him to about 50% health before transformation, afterwards brought him to 90%.)

A Google Docs spreadsheet of the maximum levels and skill ratings at that level for most followers is available here: Follower Stats. The second sheet shows a sample of the stat progression for one particular follower, Faendal, and the formulas used to calculate his health & stamina. NOTE: The "class" column is simply an attempt to categorize each NPC with a recognizable identifier, and does not reflect any internal game data.

Follower Death
The game treats permanent followers in a similar way to "essential" NPCs, but still allowing the possibility of their death. When your follower would die due to an enemy attack or a trap, they will be incapacitated for some time and begin to recover their health, just like essential NPCs; enemies will stop attacking or targeting them during this time. However, if they lose all their health again during this period, they will die for good. Thus, you should try to move the fight away from them, so that they are not hit by a stray arrow or area-effect spell. They can also die if hit with a damage-over-time poison that is stronger than their health recovery. They can also die from enemy power-attacks, as well as your attacks.

If you strike your follower dead, on the other hand, there is no recovery. Attack carefully when your follower is low on health. Follower death by yourself, even accidentally, counts as murder on your crimes list.

Many temporary followers are "essential", so they cannot be killed, only incapacitated for a while. Non-essential ones will die immediately when struck down, just as ordinary NPCs.

To ensure follower healing, make sure you give them healing potions to carry in their inventory. This way, once a follower is "wounded" they may heal almost immediately and return to the battle. If a follower isn't carrying any healing items, you may have to wait until all enemies in the area are removed before they recover. You may also use the restoration spell like Healing Hands or Heal Other on your follower, which is beneficial to you as well since you will gain skills in Restoration.

Followers do not take Water Damage, and cannot drown.

Follower Equipment
Your follower will make their own decisions about the equipment they use (if they have multiple options available to them from you giving them items directly or them picking them up). They will try to choose the "best" items, but will often equip inferior ones instead, especially if the better item has been improved through Smithing or Enchantment. You cannot force them to use the "right" item other than by removing all the wrong ones that they prefer from their inventory.

Followers will only gain benefits from the following enchantment effects on their apparel:

*Fortify Carry Weight
*Fortify Health
*Fortify Heavy Armor
*Fortify Light Armor
*Fortify Magicka
*Fortify Stamina
*Fortify Unarmed
*Muffle
*Resist Fire
*Resist Frost
*Resist Magic
*Resist Shock
*Soultrap/Fiery Soultrap (Fills a soul gem in your inventory, not theirs)
*Waterbreathing (Followers can't drown anyway, but this stops them surfacing for air)

All other enchantments do not actually have an effect for Followers, even if they should. Notably, this means:
*Fortify <Combat Skill> does not increase the amount of damage they do.
*Fortify <Magic School> does not reduce enchanted weapon usage cost at all, or remove it at values of 100%.
**There are reports that this effect does work for some Followers, but very few. See the discussion page for more information.

Follower Trainers
Followers who are also trainers will leave money paid for training in their inventory. Simply request to see their inventory and take your gold back for free training. The follower trainers are:
*Aela the Huntress (Archery - up to 75)
*Faendal (Archery - up to 50)
*Vilkas (Two-handed - up to 90)
*Athis (One-handed - up to 75)

Hirelings
Hirelings are mercenaries; you’ll need to hire them for a set price of 500 gold and are usually found in taverns. They’ll stick around until they’re dismissed, at which point they'll return to their starting location and you’ll need to pay the fee again to get them back unless they're particularly fond of you, in which case they join free of charge, or if you only dismissed them a short time ago they will join you for free also. Hirelings also use armor and weapons you give them.

Glitches
* The "body box" of dog followers is larger than their appearance suggests, thus ranged attacks will sometimes hit a dog even though you have a visually clear path towards your target.

Quest Followers
incomplete
Some NPCs follow you until a quest is completed or an event occurs. Quest followers will not give you access to their inventory. Generally they are marked as essential so cannot die and maybe are useful to have around before finishing their related quest.

Console
Through use of the console, it's possible to ask almost anyone to follow you. Some voice actors did not record certain phrases used in follower interactions, so there may be some voice changes and/or silence during certain exchanges.

The option of asking people to follow you is triggered by their membership of the PotentialFollower faction and their disposition towards you. The following commands assume that you have the NPC targetted via prid(refid) or by simply clicking on them.

You may raise their disposition with you using <code>setrelationshiprank 14 3</code> (where 14=player and 3=ally)

To add an NPC to the follower faction, enter the command <code>addtofaction 5c84d 3<code> (where 5c84d is 0005C84D faction and 3 is rank in faction, ally). This will give them the dialogue option needed to follow you if it's possible for them to do so. After entering this command, if the NPC can be a follower, you should see the 'Follow me, I need your help.' dialog option.

Though it's not required to have the follower dialog option, followers additionally are usually in the player ally faction <code>addtofaction 5a1a4 3</code> so that even if they are not following you they will regard you as an ally.

Notes
* Followers are not affected by diseases.
* It can be quite easy to outpace most followers and lose track of them (e.g. light armor wearers with heavy armor companions).

Bugs
** This is only applicable to followers that start with a bow and the standard 15 arrows, it appears to skip decrementing the arrow stack even if not using the built-in arrows. Followers that do not start with a bow (like mages) will consume arrows normally.

** 1: Do not drop a stack of 6+ items, and ask them to pick it up. They will only pick up one of the items, and the rest will be lost. They can hold 6 or more, but need to pick the items up individually.
** 2: When ordering your follower to pick up a piece of armor, sometimes you will not be able to take it back. This is because the armor they pick up is classified as starting armor, and if you try to take it from their inventory it will say, "You cannot take your follower's starting items." It is unknown why this happens and currently has no known fix. Killing your follower will allow you to get the items back, however they will be marked as stolen. Putting them on a Mannequin in your home will result in the same bug as with the follower, leaving you unable to get your armor back (Confirmed on Xbox360)
** 3: Often when you get back the items picked up by your follower through the inventory exchange dialogue, those items will be marked with a "stolen" tag, even when they are not stolen. The current workaround is to make sure you first pick up all items yourself from the place you found them. Then drop them on the ground one by one and ask your follower to pick them up. Finally, when you get the items back again, drop them on the ground and pick them up yourself one last time. (The first step is very important, as the "stolen" tag does not seem to be removed unless you had first picked up the items yourself in the very beginning.)
** 4: When encumbered past their limit by using the exploit, there have been instances when the follower would seem incapable of drawing his or her weapon in battle. They will still attempt to attack the enemy, still charging up to the fray when equipped with a melee weapon, but will be incapable of doing anything except take a beating because their weapon won't draw. (Tested on PC, patch 1.3)
*** A: This issue can sometimes be resolved by entering a new area that requires loading. (Tested on PC patch 1.3)

: Unrelenting Force Shout will sometimes break them out from being stuck. Fast traveling nearby sometimes works as well.

*Some followers may not move into Sky Haven Temple, and once equipped will travel back to their place of recruitment.
Removing Follower
Is there a way to use the console command to remove a follower from the blades?

False Note
* If you happen to bring your housecarl Lydia with you to Skyhaven Temple you may ask Delphine to accept her as a new member of the blades. Delphine will ask you if she is trustworthy. Confirm this, and Delphine will make Lydia take the oath of the Blades. She then is a member of the new Blades and no longer your housecarl. You are now free to get a new housecarl from one of the Jarls of Skyrim. This is one way of getting a new housecarl, as you can only have one at a time.
You can have as many housecarls as you like, but you can only have one follower at a time. There is no reason to mention Lydia over all the other available followers. --Legoless 22:21, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Eligible Followers
If a follower becomes a member of the blades, will you be able to still use them as a follower?
:Yup. They'll just live at Sky Haven and not where they used to be. Might be an advantage, actually, having all your followers gather in one place. Tahaneira 04:56, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
I think the following things need to be added to the article ASAP; I will get around to testing them myself when I am next available to do so:
*When this quest becomes, or ceases to become, available
*If more followers can be added after the initial three required to complete the quest
*If the blades armour they recieve can be taken from their inventories in any way, thereby creating more than the initial, solitary set present in Sky Haven Temple
*Whether joining the Blades affects your followers in any way other than armour/default locations
*Where exactly the followers stay in Sky Haven Temple
*Details regarding the dragon hunts available from Esbern, mentioned on the Blades article.
They will be asked to take an oath, and thereby join the Blades. You can still ask them to follow you after they join the Blades, and will move to Sky Haven. ==Notes==
You are now free to get a new housecarl from one of the Jarls of Skyrim. This is one way of getting a new housecarl, as you can only have one at a time.
There's so many, I don't know where to start. [At least I think that's his name] So now I'm stuck with four journals in my inventory. Hooray. Any help would be well... helpful.
:I also have had problems finding people I am suppose to deliver items to. ::Have you tried visiting the Journal window? You can select which Miscellaneous objectives you want displayed on your map (and then use Clairvoyance to find a path once you get close enough). :::Someone with some experience laying out large sections may need to give this a lot of thought before people start filling it out. There's hundreds of these in the game. I've completed 50 and have about as many active and I've only been to Riften and Whiterun. Most are mundane tasks, but others are fairly involved. ::::I've been getting a handle on the game data, with an eye towards getting NepheleBot to start to fill in some type of content for these quests. Some of the key conclusions I've come to so far:
The list on this page ended up being even longer than I'd anticipated. When I got down to it, separating out subgroups such as favors didn't make sense, largely because it's not clear that there's anything different about how favors work. I also started including various Dungeon Quests into the main list. Once the list is this long, it might as well just include all quests that aren't specific to a questline. Also, note that quests with multiple quest-givers are intentionally included on the page multiple times, once for each of the possible quest-givers. This seemed particularly important for radiant quests, so that readers could find the variant of the quest in a given hold as easily as possible.

Details about individual quests/objectives now belong on the individual quest page. And pages have been created for a couple hundred more quests. One of the main issues was deciding on names for the quest pages. I've used the quest name from the game data wherever possible, but the problem is that the "official" quest name is never seen by the player.
Because quests now have their own pages, all of the quest details don't need to be covered on the Miscellaneous Quests page. The details that I kept are the ones that I think are important for finding the quest. The primary objective was to help readers looking for a new quests to do, which is why I've broken down the page according to quest-giver location. However, I also wanted to help readers who have already started a quest and are now trying to locate it. For the sake of these readers, I've included the text of every quest objective on the page, so that a reader searching, for example, for 'Speak with Bryling' will find the correct quest. For such a search to work, however, the displayed objectives need to exactly match the objectives as displayed in game, and not be converted into quest descriptions.
I can't give him the copy I have in my inventory (of Fragment: On Artaeum), becuase the game gives me a marker to go get it at Bilegulch Mine. When I get to the mine, the marker leads me to the chest I receovered it from before, but it's not inside. == Misc Quests goes away and never comes back ==
I completed or otherwise dispatched (that is, they were renamed to another non-misc quest) all my miscellaneous quests, and the Miscellaneous Quests section of my Quests Journal went away. Now, whenever I receive what would normally be a misc quest, it doesn't do the "Quest started" overlay text, and it doesn't appear in my journal. The quests otherwise progress normally, with NPC dialog options changing appropriately, and such, but I can't see the quest in my journal, and I can't enable quest markers for the quest. == Dead Misc. Quest in Riften ==

Either from the Jarl herself or from her steward Anuriel, I got a quest to go clear Nilheim of some bandit types. Unfortunately I'd already cleared it, and the place now stays stubbornly cleared, meaning that I can never complete that quest. Highly annoying. : The default respawn time is 10 days, but I suspect this is reset every time you revisit the location. You need to stay away from it for 10 days. -- Billw 20:19, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
::Although the default respawn time is 240 hours (10 days), it's increased to 720 hours (30 days) for places that you've cleared. == Dawnstar Objectives Bug ==

Some objectives (two on my character) from Dawnstar will get stuck at the "return to Skald" phase. How common is this? Fixing via console unconfirmed as of yet.
In my case, I have four Misc. quests listed as "Collect Bounty from Skald", but I did collect them one by one in sequence each time, and I in fact became Thane in Dawnstar. I do not know why they remain listed - that is the bug in my case. [PZD] 10 January 2012.
Calcelmo Dwemer Museum (Kill Nimhe(?) the spider)
I think this is a rather static miscelaneous objective, you get it from Calcelmo, need to kill the spider and the reward is entrance/the key to the Dwemer Museum (Didn't pay attention to which one you get). I don't know how or where to edit this in, so if someone else would want to do that and then delete this section here? Thank you.--Ji e toy 01:19, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
There are quests related to the master trainers of Winterhold College. These quests will become available once you reach 100 in a magic school and will give the most powerful spells of each school. I don't know if there are quests for other master trainers if the related skill hits 100. 91.42.177.163 23:57, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
There's a "Kill the Bandit Leader" radiant objective for Markarth, as well, but there doesn't seem to be a place for it yet. :I'd been starting to get worried about why Bruca's Leap Redoubt wasn't listed as one of the possible targets for the bandit bounty quest (and therefore why a redirect didn't exist at "Kill the bandit leader located at Bruca's Leap Redoubt"). However, looking into it more closely, I think you've got the objective wrong and it was just "Kill the leader of Bruca's Leap Redoubt", which is actually part of SR:Bounty: Forsworn. Bruca's Leap Redoubt contains Forsworn, not bandits, so you can't be asked to kill the bandit leader there. --NepheleTalk 17:28, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
No quest markers
I'm having an issue where, when I activate a quest that's listed as 'miscellaneous' in my journal, I don't get a quest marker to point the way, either on my compass or on my map. I used to get quest markers for these quests, back at the beginning of the game, and have only recently noticed this issue. All the other named quests show a marker just fine. I'm on the xbox, so console solutions are out of the question. Any thoughts? Anyone else have this problem? Obax 07:25, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Have you tried to turn off all markers then turn back on the one that you wanted?
I've noticed that if I have many markers active sometimes they disappear/don't appear and that by reseting or picking different ones after turning them all off they work again.

This has happened to me quite a lot. If you activate a miscellaneous quest and the marker doesn't appear, try fast traveling
anywhere on the map. Once you are at a new location, check to see if the quest marker has appeared. This has worked for me on
numerous occasions.
odd dragon happenings
i had gone to riften for a "bounty " on a dragon just of there on a tower. i was able to sneak up and hit it for the normal and 15x damage mod. it roared and took flight then turned back at me. it then dove down, hit the ground, skidded a good distance, flopped about, then died. i had enough time to go down the tower and kill a nearby bear before it began the burn scene. i tried this twice and got the same result. is this a bug/glitch or just how the game reacts to the event.

(edit.) just went to skyborn alter and sneak killed that dragon. same thing happened. used a bow this time. it needed a second hit but then it fell through the rocks as it burned.
Can't Get Rid of Rjorn's Drum
While questing I found Rjorn's Drum. Only later did I discover someone at the Bard's College in Solitude gives you the quest to find it. I took the drum to him. He gave me the reward. But I still have Rjorn's drum in my inventory (unremovable) and "Find Rjorn's Drum" remains listed under Misc. Quests. I can't seem to do anything to remedy this. == Impass Finding Books for Urag gra-Shub at Winterhold College ==

I started the Misc. quest of finding a series of lost/missing books for Urag gra-Shuk, located in the Arcanaeum at the College of Winterhold. I found and returned the first one just fine, which he began translating. When I obtained the one called Fragment: On Artaeum, Urag gra-Shuk would not recieve it. Next thing I know it's like the whole thing reset. It was like he was accepting the very first book to tranlate and now wanted the next. I can't give him the copy I have in my inventory (of Fragment: On Artaeum), becuase the game gives me a marker to go get it at Bilegulch Mine. When I get to the mine, the marker leads me to the chest I receovered it from before, but it's not inside. I can't put the book back in to retrieve it and Urag gra-Shuk won't accept it until the quest says I've found it. I believe I am at an impass. PZD 10 January 2012.
Misc Quests goes away and never comes back
I completed or otherwise dispatched (that is, they were renamed to another non-misc quest) all my miscellaneous quests, and the Miscellaneous Quests section of my Quests Journal went away. I've tried using the console to advance a quest, but it did not solve the problem - it just updated NPC dialog and such. Anybody else experiencing this, and any known workarounds?
