Detailed Walkthrough
- Mournhold Palace
- When you teleport in from the island after speaking with Asciene Rane, you will arrive in the Royal
Palace of Mournhold, next to the Argonian Effe-Tei who can teleport you back to Vvardenfell. Follow
Asciene's advice and speak to any Royal Guard who are wandering around and ask them about the Dark
Brotherhood. You may need to persuade them in order to get the information. The guard, once persuaded,
will direct you to the Sewers underneath the Great Bazaar in the Eastern section of Town. There's not
a whole lot of interest in this first area, the only container next to Effe-Tei only contains 6 sets
of cutlery.
- Finding the Great Bazaar
- Exit to the Royal Palace Courtyard from the door next to Effe-Tei and from there onto the Plaza
Brindisie Dorom. Take a left and follow the wall a ways to find a doorway leading into the Great Bazaar.
There is one obvious entrance to the Sewers in the South-East corner of the Bazaar.
- Finding the Dark Brotherhood
- Explore the Bazaar Sewers, keeping an eye out for the undead and Goblins which live down
their, until you find one of the two entrances to Old Mournhold: Manor District. As soon as you enter
this section, you should receive a Journal Entry mentioning that you have found the Dark Brotherhood's
hideout. It won't be long until you start to find some Brotherhood members who appear to would like
nothing better than to kill you. Most of the Brotherhood people tend to reappear if you leave the
area and come back anyways, so feel free to make use of all the potential targets that you want to.
The rough order of difficulty of the Brotherhood members are:
- Journeyman
- Apprentice
- Operator
- Punishor
- Assassin
The only question now is what to do with those four dozen complete sets of Dark Brotherhood armour.
- Dandras Vules
- In the North Building of the Moril Manor, you will find one Dandras Vules. Vules is a tough opponent
and you might want to ensure that you are fully prepared before you take him. Once you kill him you will
receive a journal entry and find an interesting contract on his corpse. The journal entry will tell you
to go and talk to another guard to find out more on the contract. Any guard should direct you to speak
with Fedris Hler, the Chief Steward of Almalexia (one of the three Tribunal gods) in the Temple Reception Area.
- Fedris Hler
- Make your way to the Temple Courtyard (North door in the Great Bazaar) and from their the Reception area is
found in the large central structure. Hler will not mention anything of the supposed Brotherhood leader Vules
whom you killed, but will rather use the opportunity to set for you a new task for the Lady Almalexia.
Note that this quest is optional if you speak to Fedris Hler right away when you arrive in Mournhold.
