Long-Face

Level: 12

Class: Warrior (Default bland ol' warrior)

Unlike most warriors though, he does not wear armor anywhere outside the arena (only one of my characters have ever worn armor).
He does not use shields, however he does parry.

To make money, he uses alchemy. He also goes to bandit camps for their leveled loot. Because he enjoys wandering the wild, he often has plenty of alchemy ingredients to use.

He is currently living in the Priory of the Nine, as he is saving up for a house. His previous house was the Aleswell inn, which he used as a homeless shelter. He plans to purchase his house in either Chorrol or Cheydinhal.

I just started to play Oblivion anew, and here's my first "serious" character for this time.

Name: Inge Blizzard-Magpie (the name is odd, yeah, but it's a translation of "pyryharakka" from my native tongue. That means either a lively young girl or a talkative woman with a bit careless appearance.)
Race: Nord
Age: 30
Class: Adventurer (custom with Blade, Block, Speechcraft, Light Armor, Sneak, Marksman and Acrobatics)
Appearance: Hair color bright copper, blue eyes, long nose and very little "makeup".

Personality-wise, I intend to play her as a compassionate and curious (sometimes too much so for her own good) character with somewhat flexible morals (some light thieving or swindling isn't a problem, but outright murder or robbery is too much). She's still at level 1 and on her way to Kvatch. After escorting Martin to the Cloud Ruler Temple she'll go and do some freelance adventuring, after which she'll join the Thieves Guild. I'm aiming for a sort of a character arc where she then sees the error of her ways, leaves crime behind her and joins the Fighters Guild to redeem her honour. At some point after that questline and free-form roaming she'll complete the Main Quest.

And now, some pictures. She's not that beautiful, I admit, but I was going more for a personal look.

This is my main character for my first PC Oblivion Deluxe playthrough.

It's my first pure Mage playthrough for any TES game; it's actually a bit easier than I thought it would be. All Aldari's major skill are shown.

Proposed Character + Data:

Race: Altmer Name: Daemos Avetorii
Birthsign: The Mage/The Apprentice/The Lady
Class Name: Artificer
Intelligence +5 Personality +5
Magic

Mercantile
Speechcraft
Alchemy
Illusion
Alteration
Destruction
Conjuration

Mysticism starts at 20. It is easy to train it to apprentice level so that soul trap can be used.
High focus on Alchemy and the sale of potions/poisons makes Restoration unnecessary.

The Artificer.

A person that makes magical things. Like potions/poisons, conjures creatures and items. Creates and sells enchanted gear, and conducts in profitable trade.

I would appreciate some input/opinions. :)

Did you mean Acrobatics instead of Agility or did I read that wrong?

My main Oblivion characters:

Morq Al-khuush (dont' laught, she is my first ever ES character...I had no idea how orcs should really be named)
Done the main quest, so she's champion of Cyrodiil.
Class: default Warrior
Birthsign: the Lady
Favorite stretegy: Whack the first and ask questions later (some of you dead guys has to have right key/note/whatever).
Favourite weapon: Rockshatter
Armour: Imperial dragon armour (heavy, of course)
Factions: Fighter's guild, working towards being guildmaster, Mages guild (RPG-wise doesn't make sense, but she is my first and I've been trying everything with her), thieves guild, just to get rid of certain "hot" loot. Blades (had a crush on Baurus, was heatbroke when he didn't survive the Bruma Gate battle).
Killed Lucien Lachance (that's a story in itself).
Hobbies: closing Oblivion gates, collecting enchanted weapons and armours, decorating houses with varla-stones (and dead assassins...sheesh, even the ectoplams stains wore off, but no Lucien's body just lays there, in the upper hallway of Benarus Manor), raiding dead NPC's houses.
Personality: Morq is basically good hearted, lawabiding orsimer girl with temper and she is skittish too. She had tendency to hit first and found out who it was later (oh, sheesh, sorry, I didn't meant to kill you, mr legion solder...I thought you were daedra.) And she really, really wanted to strangle Farwil Indarys herself.

Lucius Atticus
Race: Imperial
Class: scout
Birthsign: I can't remember...
Favourite weapon: Bow
Armour: Light, leather
Favourite strategy: sneak and snipe them.
Hasn't done main quest at all, hangs around Bravil and Leyawiin doing quests in that area.
Hobbies: hunting

Talwina Sero
Race: dunmer
Class: Sorcerer
Birthsign: Atronach
Favourite weapon--none, she uses spells, has silver dagger as fall back.
Armour: Steel cuirass
Factions: Mage guild, doing the Recommendation guests
Hobbies: rummaging around Ayleid ruins
Currently she's also doing the Collector -quest.

The Real Delia Dalomax

Since I'm playing Oblivion again, I decided to re-create my Champion of Cyrodiil character, Delia Dalomax, from when I played the game 4-5 years ago. In my made-up lore, she is the legendary namesake and possible ancestor of my Skyrim Dovahkiin, Delia-Jessamine Maric (who I post about in the "What You Did in Skyrim Today" thread). But the build is slightly different than before, and I'll be doing some things differently in the story arc, too. Also, I have the DLC this time. I intend to post about the character's adventures in the "What You Did in Oblivion Today" thread.

Delia Dalomax
Race and gender: Breton female
Birthsign: The Lady
Specialization: Stealth
Class: "Vixen" (similar to Agent)
Favored attributes: Agility and Personality
Major skills: Acrobatics, Alchemy, Illusion, Marksman, Mercantile, Sneak, Speechcraft

The only skills I don't see her using are Conjuration (unusual for a Breton character), Blunt, Hand-to-Hand, and Heavy Armor. Because she is small, she sticks with shortswords and daggers. Her armor is leather* (no helmet) because I don't think any of the other vanilla armors are appropriate for Stealth characters. She is an offense-minded character, even though her initial build is weak offensively - creative poisons can make up for a lot, though (as can spell-crafting when she gets into the Arcane University). For Destruction, she will mainly use "On Touch" spells.

*Soon, she will be using a modded leather armor. On Nexus Mods it's called "Dark Leather Armor". It offers mithril-like protection and it has a hood. I like hoods. I've installed the mod and Delia is saving up for the armor.

Year born: 3E405
Alignment: Not evil.
Faction expectations: Currently, she is in the Thieves Guild and Mages Guild. She will complete the TG, but I don't think she will go past Journeyman in the MG (maybe I'll save that questline for another character). She will join and complete the Fighters Guild, as well as the Blades. After she's done all that, she will probably join KOTN, also. She might infiltrate the Dark Brotherhood, but will not advance the questline. She will not fight in the Arena, but enjoys betting on fights.

Personality: Normally, she is ambitious, opportunistic, adaptable, and optimistic. She is well-mannered and cultured, and can turn on the charm as needed. However, prison life took away her edge, so she starts the game needing to get her confidence back. Like all my characters, she hears music no one else can hear. While generally forgiving, she will hold grudges if wronged enough, but is controlled in temperament - it's more of a slow burn with her.

Religion Devoted to the Nine and prays regularly. Believes that the Nine guide and protect her and that Dibella in particular communicates with her through music. Whether she will consort with any Daedric princes is to be determined - certainly not the evil ones. She will do Shivering Isles, though, because... well, the lore says she will.

Ethics and morals: Though a thief, she has some strong ethical and moral convictions. She will not steal wantonly and will not commit murder. She does not approve of Conjuration, believing it to be a form of Daedra worship. She also opposes the use of soul trap on humans, elves, beastfolk, and animals. Among other things.

Backstory:

Edited to account for differences since I re-started the character.

This is the best character I have played yet. It is a switch from Breton 'war mages.' Early level development is easier (than for a Breton) since Strength is already high and I like to build Destruction and Alteration early. It is difficult to build two fighting skills to plus ten in the same level.

The down side compared to a Breton is in the weakness to magic attack (off set by the high endurance/health to start), and the lack of magic 'juice' (which is easily rectified by choosing the Mage Birthsign). I chose the Lover Birthsign for the Lover's Kiss greater power. It was very useful for surviving levels 1-3, but I think that choosing the Mage (+50 magicka) would be better in the long run.

Name: Black Tom (It started out as a jet black Kajiit, but I changed it to a Nord at the end of the sewers)

Race: Nord

Back story: A dark haired, olive skinned tribal people/Nord half breed War Shaman's apprentice. He left his tribe because of a darkness he felt in his soul. He ended up in prison after a drunked brawl, which ended in the nephew of someone important getting killed. After prison he discovered the Tower Stone and joined the Thieves' Guild. That created an opportunity to join the Mage's guild in Bruma (after robbing it.) He came from a warrior tribe so he joined the Fighters' Guild to make money. Much later, after saving the world, he joined the Dark Brotherhood in an attempt to take it down from the inside, but when he tried to kill everyone in the sanctuary on his first day, they respawned, so he traveled back in time via quick save and just decided not to bother checking in with the Night Mother once he became Listener. He figured that once he ascended and became a god, he could kill Sithis so no more babies would be sacrificed.

Major Skills:
This is the best combo I have found for easy 5-5-5 leveling (big power faster)
Block
Hand To Hand
Alteration (need feather and shield spells early)
Mysticism (need soul trap early)
Sneak
Illusion
Light Armor

These are all low priority skills and can be built by button-holding or rat-attack when you are ready to level up. You can build up the important skills as high as you want as quickly as you want.

Birth sign: The Lover (should have picked the Mage)

Focus: Combat (Pros-builds slow skills faster, Cons- +10 to Block and Hand to Hand =2 levels)

Nord Benefits: Nordic Frost spell, Woad spell (both are very good for early survival), Frost resistance 50%(helps with ghost/wraith, Imp, dark Varla stones, and some staff attacks), high endurance, high strength.

Nord drawbacks: +5 to Block (1/2 level) is a minor thing. Magic weakness early on is countered by Mage birthsign or potions.

Maximum Level = 54 using the Oghma Infinium (gives two extra levels with the Shadow Path. +10 to Sneak and Light Armor--used after they both were maxed.)

I love to bow hunt, so I build up the big three (Destruction, Intelligence, and Endurance) (5-5-5) early on so I can protect myself when things go wrong. I start using my bow as a primary weapon at about level 11, and starting at level 17, I start closing oblivion gates. I try to close all 60. The main reasons for doing so many are: 1) Easy to build up skills (Blade, Hand to Hand, Sneak). 2) Herrada, Spiddle stick, et al. needed for end-game arrow poisons. 3) Long range, two-shot bow kills are a challenge to make, and there are a lot of opportunities.

Starting in Sewer: I build Heavy Armor to 65-70 so I didn't have to bother later. It reaches 100 easily when combined with Armorer and Block to build up Endurance. (Rats in Ft. Carmala are prefered training device, and I need the Vampire dust for poisons.) I don't wear armor much after that, not until level 4 when I can enchant some with feather to help with the weight/movement.

Carrying stuff: You need to carry some stuff early in the game (bringing broken stuff home helps build Armorer = Endurance), so starting strong is nice. With the Nord (unlike the Bretons I usually play) I don't have to build it as fast as I do the big three (Destruction+Alteration, Intelligence, and Endurance).

Working Home: White Stallion Lodge (fast travel point at front door, and lots of storage without moving far to organize)

Showplace Home: Skingrad

Ongoing Affair: Ganredhel (it's an animal thing).

Marriage arrangement: Countess Narina Carvain--arranged by Jaufrre and Martin (she is pregnant with Martin's baby and I must protect the Dragon Blood). Our marriage will help calm Nord-Imperial tensions in Bruma. I also know about the female Blades who volunteered to "take one for the Empire." Somebody is going to pop out a son.

When Chancelor Ocato patronizingly told me about the crappy suit of armor he was having made for me, I pointed out that the County of Kvatch was a more appropriate reward. He could not pull Legions from the provinces to save Cyrodiil, so he can't do much against my own private army of fighters, mages, Blades, Knights of the Nine, and the population in general, waiting to back me. He made some snarky comment about why I didn't just ask to be Emperor, to which I replied "Don't be stupid. That would cause more trouble than it is worth."

****

I wish they would have hired the writers who wrote the back story books to think up a realistic sequence for the game. In real life (medieval,) warriors who save the kingdom/Empire/world get land and titles, not a crappy suit of armor. Newbys who do "wet work" for the higher ups (killing for the mages guild and fighters guild) are not given the top level adminstrative position.

Mateo Josef
Mateo the Imperial is a noble, strong knight of the Warrior birthsign. He is good with all melee weapons whether they be swords, maces, etc. He knows how to block an attack and fight with his fists. He prefers iron to leather, manipulates peoples emotions, and can give a good speech.

He was a young boy who was always getting into fights. He never argued with his parents even though he was just defending a victim of bullying. He wasn't that good of a student, but he never failed his classes.

In his teenage years his village was raided by a particularly nasty gang of bandits and barbarians. He fled from his home in southern Skyrim to Bruma where he lived as a beggar for 16 years. This life hadn't treated him well as he was getting gray hairs at the age of 32.

A few weeks after he turned 32, he saw a noble kicking around an old beggar. Memories of his childhood rushed into him as he felt the urge to beat this rich man to a bloody pulp. As he was giving a beating to the man, he was grabbed by a guard who was patrolling nearby and put in jail. The nobleman had friends in high places and was able to get Mateo transferred to the Imperial prison, where he had a cell across from a racist dark elf.

Who knows what his future holds? Will he ever settle down? He doesn't seem to think he will even breath fresh air for a few years. He thinks of what his life has become as the dark elf taunts him about the footsteps in the distance.

Got a new project. Text might appear a bit cluttered. I put it together from a chat I was in.

Name: Daemos Maleficus
Race: Altmer
Birthsign: The Lady
Class Bonuses +5 Willpower +5 Intelligence
Class Name: Warlock
Magic

~Destruction
~Alchemy
~Illusion
~Mysticism
~Alteration
~Mercantile
~Speechcraft

Roleplay/Behaviour Data:

I am creating a Warlock in oblivion. I am currently creating his behaviour/roleplay stuff. He is an evil Man/Elf/Argonian but hates necromancy and conjuration. Hiding behind summoned creatures can be mistaken for weakness. He will be a master of destruction and his mantra is "the dead remain the dead" for if necromancers can reanimate those he killed than the absolute death he caused is undone and will harm others perception of his power. While evil, he is very affable and polite to those he respects, he desires arcane power not as much for conquest but for reputation, he loathes restoration magic and prefers alchemy instead as it requires more work and ingredient collection; and avoids Conjuration. He is very aware of the perceptions of strength and weakness and as such makes it his business to only show strength and either hide his weaknesses or destroy them through increased arcane force.

He is an embodiment of death. not of the dead themselves but causing death. To him it equals unrivaled power to kill when needed.
Also he is not as much evil per say but cruel to his enemies.
He does respect gravesites and does not disturb them.
He has a curious respect for death and the balance it causes.

He feels he can find peace only if all his foes are destroyed or if he is. His greatest fear is not death itself; but being used by necromancers after death.
He's not reckless or foolhardy but would find tranquility in death and will not fight it when it comes. He's actually kinda patient and ruthless.
He has a mild loathing for the combat races ie nord redguard etc and considers unintelligence a weakness, and makes no mistake to have his intelligence known. This is not to be mistaken for arrogance, which is based on insecurity but on the tactical display of real actual power. As such, he respects bookwriters and alchemists and other people that do work requiring intelligence.

This Warlock respects the mages guild and would never attack their members but realizes that his possible membership will be looked down on because of his reputation of evil and general wickedness etc. He does buy spells from them for experimenting in his house in blackwood and can buy altars from the Mystic Emporium shop. (mod)

My Warlock will not use Restoration and Conjuration. I was considering using Mercantile and Speechcraft, as an intelligent evil mage needs to know how to get a message across and needs to fund his endeavours by selling potions etc.

The Warlock will not hesitate to murder or use force on those in his way, or to get what he wants/needs. He might use a chameleon spell to do it with. To avoid legal repercussions.

-added- Decided on Lady Birthsign. Extra Endurance is helpful and the whole "fortifies you on your quest for glory" makes sense. I'd imagine the "Lady is one of the Warrior's Charges and her Season is Heartfire. Those born under the sign of the Lady are kind and tolerant." Can help him to offset his natural malevolence a bit making him more personable/polite and thus better at mercantile. He's still merciless in bartering however and will always try to get the best price, even at merchant's expense. :P

Character's name : Miserina
Race : Mystic Elf (i'm using mods)
Birthsign : The Steed
Class : Marksmage (archer mage)
Female (age 24)

.Destruction
.Alteration
.Marksman
.Illusion
.Blade
.Athletics
.Sneak

Story behind character : Miserina is the last Mystic Elf (the rare race) who survived the tragic of her race at High Rock. She traveled to Cyrodiil, she remembered about the tragic of her race and lost control, killed few people on her way and then being arrested. Everything is too overwhelmed, caused her to have amnesia.

Roleplay : Although she is very cold-blood mage and an elite member of Dark Brotherhood, she also enjoy being guildmaster of Fighters Guild and working with Modryn Oreyn because she is in the grey area. She believe she could have a stable future with Vicente Valtieri (even accepted his "dark gift) and could hang out with Lucien Lachance but still, she know that she shouldn't attach to anyone too much and still kill many member in The Purification and enjoy talking place of previous Listener Ungolim. She dislike Thieves Guild but still became their guildmaster for the lulz. She is a master of Destruction and Illusion, some time she get bored and cast frenzy on people she don't like and enemies. She is neutral to the Mage Guild. She planned after max 100 of her major skills she will get rid off vampirism because she tired of sun damage and losing health at daytime.

An Imperial, Ace was born into the Mages Guild when his father Namanian Facian (Yes, a member of the MT in Morrowind) abandoned him and left him on the doorstep of Bruma Mages Guild. He grew up practising magic in the areas of Destruction and Restoration.
On the day of his 18th birthday, he was wandering Waterfront, in which he frequently gets in trouble with the Thieves Guild, a courier provided him with the latest news article, reading about Uriel Septim's death, and he looks down at the paper.

"Morag-Tong's Master (in which he became master after the murdering of Goren Andarys), Namanian Facian dies after poisoning in sweetroll."

Ace had a fit of rage, never meeting him (and never will), he picked up a shortsword and threw it behind him. Some screams were heard. He turned around and saw that an Imperial Guard had a half an ebony shortsword planted in his face, along with a pool of blood he lied down silently in.

"Oh, no!" he gasped, he knew he was in so much trouble, he ran and swam for the entire day, and found a settlement called "Blankenmarch" he lied about his identity and stayed there for about 4 months until guards found him and put him in Bruma Dungeon.
He wasn't suprised, he knew they were going to find him eventually. He made friends with a Male Nord names Jorundr. He stole alot of gold, but he said it wasn't his fault, it was his wives. Ace did believe him. Jorundr was only grumpy on the fact that he was in jail for something he hardly done. And his wife was basking in the warm ecstasy of freedom.

He was released, as Jorundr was still in jail, rotting. Ace found some lockpicks and became good at it. He became so good, the Thieves Guild hired him as a lockpicker. He decided to put his skills to use and busted out Jorundr of the dungeon. Ace had never heard of him again.

Ace had nothing. On the streets of Waterfront as a beggar, all the gold he received was toward alcohol, or betting.
The Thieves Guild kicked him out for stealing from a fellow guild member. He was sadly drinking some mead then a tall shadow casted over him. He didn't bother to look "Git the hell out of 'ere, I don't need anyone!" sipping his sixth mead of the day.

"But it's me. Son." He looked on his left seeing a man named Namanian Facian.

Namanian Facian.
Namanian Facian.

He said that name and burst into tears and said "Why did you leave me, father? And I thought you died!"
he gasped with about 10 people surrounding him. "Shh. I escaped" Namanian whispered. "I gave you up because my life was too dangerous. I didn't want anything happening to you."

Ace knew it was for the best, he hugged him throwing aside his mead bottle. He bought a home with his dad in Blankenmarch, spending the rest of his life with him.

I still need to reinstall Obliv, which I will do soon, but yesterday I dug up some screenshots of my first character. Back then I didn't really take things like 'lore' very seriously, which kind of shows in her name I suppose, but still.
At some point I lost her safe file, not sure how that happened, but I tried to recreate her. It was not the same.

Jackie Preston has a special place in my heart, so with these pictures back on my laptop, I still want to show her :') Don't mind me being very sentimental.

my favorite two.

Alchemy blade sneak light armor illusion security armorer.
Born under shadow.
Abandoned at a young age he was forgotten and never taken to become a shadowscale. He stalked the wilds of black marsh and grew to loathe his own kind and longed to be different and apart from them. He abandoned his homeland and crossed into cyrodiil. The first thing he saw was another argonian. As soon as he spotted her she vanished. He was filled with rage. Fate was mocking him. A shadowscale. It was difficult to track her by sound and smell alone but he faded into the shadows himself and haunted her steps all the way to the imperial waterfront. Where he pounced and ripped her throat out with his teeth. The guards were on him before he could react. Fast forward two months. A daring escape and a distubing sleep had brought him to the dark brotherhood. Two shadowscales. In the end he didnt need luciens orders or vincents dark gift to bleed them dry. But it made it all the more enjoyable

severik
breton
custom class ex-mage
spec magic
int wil
blade heavy armor block conjuration restoration destruction mysticism
born under atronach
(as a special rp rule all spells he cast must be custom and must include a level appropriate magicka drain and on self and target if applicable. If it is an aoe the magicka drain must cover the same radius. The only exception is absorb magicka which he may use freely. Also he cannot use any potion that fortifies intelligence or restores/fortifies magicka but he can use welkynd stones freely. he may not use any fortify magicka gear)
as a breton he grew in magic power rapidly at a young age. However his innate resistance to magic and the effects from his birthsign mutated his casting ability. As he studied and trained with his guildmates they felt sick as they cast. And he felt thirsty. As if his soul were begging to drain their spells from their bodies. And worse no potion nor enchantment could sate the craving. But he could supress his hunger as long as he did not cast spells and deplete his precious magicka. So he trained as a battlemage and donned the legion armor. Forever an apprentice but still serving the college. But he was not a strong or hardy man and was not fit for battle without his superior magic. Though he trained night and day he was put on gate duty. He went to the archmages quarters to tender his resignation. The archmage was absent but something caught his eye. It looked like a huge lump of precious rock with ancient elven markings and glowed bright blue. He instantly was drawn to it and the archmage let out a call to the guards as he stumbled in on him draining the welkynd stone of its essence. Fast forward. His sentence was short but fled prison regardless. The ancient elven stone held the key to unlocking his true power and he had heard the rumous where they could be found. He promised himself he would use his blade only until then but vilverins dephs promised a magic user. He could sense him even from this far. And prison had left him hungry.

Sorry for the huge post but im a major roleplayer. I have many more so let me know what you think and i may post a few more.

Name: Jorgen
Race: High Elf
Birthsign: The Mage
Class: Mage (basic class)
Current level: 5

My new character is a mage role-play and it's a lot of fun. It's nice to play a character who doesn't care about honor or piety and all that, as my previous one did. Work for a Daedric Prince? Sounds great! I will either do the Shivering Isles first or, more probably, switch between it and Cyrodiil matters. For now, access to the Arcane University is the main concern. I disabled Knights of the Nine because it didn't fit the character and to get available chapel services in Anvil. There's enough to do anyway.

I will focus fully on Intelligence, Willpower and Luck. I will purposefully keep physical attributes and skills low, which might be dangerous in the long run. So far it works well. He uses daggers to apply poison and enchantment effects, otherwise his equipment is just staves and clothes/robes. The primary attacks are Destruction spells, as I'd rather get Willpower over Intelligence at the moment. I'll work on Conjuration later. I avoid spamming spells for training, as I try to keep his actions natural.

Besides the Mages Guild, he wouldn't mind joining the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood, but they're not priorities. He avoids the Fighters Guild and most side quests that don't seem to involve something magical or otherwise supernatural. As for the MQ, I'm not avoiding it, but trying to work through it as it comes. My guy is sort of pushed into the role of a hero, which does affect his choices somewhat.

An update on Jorgen:

He's currently level 16 and turning out to be the glass cannon I intended. I'm proud to say that all but one of his Minor skills are still at Novice levels. Athletics is at Apprentice level only through the vampirism bonus. I've raised Speed slightly but kept the other physical Attributes at starting levels. Still, he handles fights pretty well. He's not as fragile as I feared but it's still nerve-wracking whenever a strong enemy gets into melee range. Strong defensive spells, potions and enchantments help a lot.

He still uses a silver dagger, since better materials don't really make much difference at his skill level. He also uses the Skull of Corruption to great effect against certain enemies.

He has made Warlock in the Mages Guild, joined the Thieves Guild, worked for Sheogorath for a few missions in the Isles and, yes, become a vampire. Currently he's looking for a cure. To top it off, he has carried the Mysterium Xarxes around in his bag for a while now, constantly reminding him of a future crisis.
