... In retrospect, that post would have probably made more sense in the Skyrim thread.

I really miss this game, for me, this is one of the best in the whole series. Skyrim is great but, not as good as Oblivion, the gameplay is better, but in Skyrim the story is poor and the quest is less epic.

For me, it's about designing a character that gains power fast. Efficient leveling and staying ahead of the curve.

The quests in Oblivion have an extra layer of effort put into them that put most of them on par with the best of other games.

Oblivion did alot of things right. In hindsight it was the perfect gap between Morrowind's heavy RPG elements and lack of handholding(wikis and maps were essential) vs skyrim's more streamlines and waterdowned process

Oblivion tho really did good with not only making various quests less direct(like requiring info gathering) or adding more flavorful sidequests as opposed to radiant ones

Skyrim and Fallout 4 are kind of odd ones out, as they are considerably more complex beasts in comparison to Oblivion and Fallout 3. As a consequence of that added complexity, playable complexity goes down. I think it's one of those things where the technology just needs some time to catchup.

Oblivion was my very first Elder Scrolls game, so it's always been the one I judge the others against. I've heard that some people were disappointed with some of the changes in gameplay between Morrowind and Oblivion, but I've always found Morrowind's gameplay to be rather cumbersome and awkward compared to Oblivion's gameplay. It does have its rough spots, not to mention game-crashing bugs; but overall it still remains my favorite single-player Elder Scrolls game.

I'm sure that there are many theories about why Oblivion's Mannimarco is so weak for the God of Worms. My theory is that that Mannimarco is simply the God of Worms' sensory. What's a sensory? https://shinzabansho.fandom.com/wiki/Sensory

Oblivion correctly shows that goblins are scarier than vampires. Endgame vampires are nothing more than goth bandits, while endgame goblins' arrows can bypass paralysis resistance.

Okay. Just a quest. Ion. Question. WHY did they have to make the dang menu placement-into-containers mechanism so GAWD-AWFULLY SLOW?? What are we, NINETY? Not me, I'm only SIXTY, and I still have limber hands, and placing things into containers, like my ingredients, CRAWLS timewise, can you tell it's on my NERVE??

Made a Summary of Oblivion, tried to make it understandable for those who want to look at this game for the first time and maybe get the gist of the whole story,
for the sake of commemorating the gates of oblivion Blackwood launch. what do you think?

Earil's madness is obsession with time, not paranoia, and yet, he still questioned whether or not Brithaur was dead, despite literally seeing me straight up murder Brithaur right in front of him.

The statue in Deepscorn Hollow appears to be that of Lorkhan, rather than Sithis, due to the hole where his Heart should be.

It wouldnt be that far fetched. DB havent been known for being faithful to accuracy. Then again, hasnt stopped the Aldmer from basically treating three proceeding gods as the same with mildly different names/spelling

I do though prefer the look of Deepscorn's statue over what we see in Black Marsh regarding Sithis. Idk, I just feel a hooded figure wrapped in bandages embodies the theme of the void(and darkness) than some aztec skeleton death god. Very much being unable to put a face on him despite building him a statue just works
