I recall that there was a Mages Guild quest asking you to steal an artifact from the church. Typically, there was no battle, but if you do the quest repeatedly, there was a chance that the gods will "punish" you by sending a giant version of a common animal after you (for me, it was a giant scorpion). However, I can't seem to find this quest on this list: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Mages_Guild#Quests Is this list incomplete, or am I crazy?

Are you sure it wasn't a mod?

I didn't mod, but I did use unofficial patches, so the quest might have been on the cutting room floor but added back by said patch.
