Hi All,

I'm on my second playthrough of Arena and this time trying to manage gear + attributes a bit more effectively. What I can't seem to find out is if you have naturally leveled an attribute to 100 and then equip an item which provides a +20, is that attribute 120 and the interface just reads 100 or are you actually capped at 100 so then I should've only leveled that attribute to 80?

Any thoughts on this? :wat:

Thanks for the follow-up. I was going to say the same thing-- but then I wasn't sure about the actual calculations versus the displayed stats, which is what you specifically asked about. I was pretty sure that the actual calculations don't use values over 100, but there might be a few ways to check to be sure-- maybe not for all stats, but at least for some. Basically, you could try to boost a particular stat that affects a particular action or condition in the game so that it's far above 100-- such that any impact from its increased value should be more dramatic-- then see if the affected action or condition is impacted by the boost. For example, you can boost Speed to see if you move faster, or boost Strength to see if you jump farther, or boost Endurance to see if you heal faster when resting, etc.

I think they were talking about raising attributes using enchanted items or spells.

For example, say your Strength is at 90 and you equip an item that raises Strength by +20. Although the game will display your Strength as 100, is it actually using a Strength of 110 (90+20) in its internal calculations, or is it using 100?
